My Sister |
It seems just like yesterday, We shared the same room. Two kids that loved to play, Time has flown way too soon. For now we are older, With kids of our own, Sharing the same room, And soon they will be grown. You patched up my bruises, You mended my heart, You listened to me constantly, And gave more than your part. Time hasn't changed you, Maybe just a bit more wiser, You still hold my heart in your hands, When it erupts like a geiser. Calming me down a bit, Telling me all will be okay. Seems like you are always there, Every single day. I love you as each year passes, Seems like more and more. I hate to think that one day, You won't be there when I walk through the door. Sweet sister of mine, What wonderful memories you hold dear, Thank you for being there, And bringing so much cheer. written for my three sisters, by Brenda Higgins, 2003 |
