Improving the accuracy of GPS receivers

I recently performed a study to determine if it was possible to improve the spatial accuracy of typical GPS units by averaging the coordinates taken over long periods of time. The results of this study were published in The Amateur Scientists Bulletin, 27 September 2002. This is a weekly electronic newsletter produced by the Society for Amatuer Scientists.

For anyone interested in either verifying my results or simply interested in reviewing the raw data I am including links to the data collected for each location below.
