"Love's Rose"

I took a picture of a rose
my love gave to me
For it's a sight that must be kept
for all to always see

Never knew a rose can grow
as large as it has done
Never knew a rose can show
how far our love has come

It took my breath away
this rose my lover gave me
Yet this rose will wither
as with everything

I saved the pieces of the rose
my love gave to me
to remind me of the lesson
it had once taught me
young or old
it is still
a rose
and
weak or strong
our love
will go on

Sunday afternoon Pond
How come I
always associate
willow with widow?

Wine
under the willow trees;
sluggish water,
still;
but
the insects' dance
creates
the dragonfly's choreography!
