The Words From Love

They said I've always been weak;
You said I could be strong.
They said I had never been right;
You said I could never be wrong.

They said I cried an ocean;
You said it was just a little rain.
They said I'd never make it through;
You said you'd help me with the pain.

They said to bottle it all up inside;
You said it was okay to cry.
They said I would be overlooked;
You said you could never pass me by.

They told me to just let go;
You said; "Hold onto my hand."
They told me to "just do it,";
You said to take a stand.

They said my voice wouldn't be heard;
You said, "Have they heard you sing?"
They said I'd never be who I wanted to be;
You said I could do anything.

They said it was foolish to dream;
You encouraged me to use my mind.
They said I was replaceable;
You said I was one of a kind.

They said I'd slip through the cracks;
You said you would never let me go.
They said the distance was too much;
You said that it had made our love grow.

They gossip about you and me;
You told me not to believe the lies.
They said our love would be lost;
You said you were lost in my eyes.

They said I couldn't hit the shot;
You said I couln't miss.
They said I should know it wouldn't last;
You said you felt forever in our kiss.

They said I'd never succeed;
You said it wasn't true.
They said I wasn't ready;
You said "I'll wait for you."

They said that I was too nice to people;
You said,"You could never help too much."
They said it wasn't real;
You said you could feel it in my touch.

They said you wouldn't always be there for me;
You said, you'd never let me down, we'd never be apart.
They said that it wouldn't last forever;
But you loved me with all your heart.
