Living Holy Why Not Trust Him?

Topics to Come

These topics come straight from God's Word (KJV). Hopefully these scriptures will stimulate thought, conversation, and the study of God's Word. I encourage you not only to read the outlined scriptures, but the whole Bible (KJV).

A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels: Proverbs 1:5

Salvation

Believe - He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. John 1:11-13

But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name. John 20:31

Repent - And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel. Mark 1:15

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Acts 2:38

Be baptized in Jesus Name - One Lord, one faith, one baptism, Ephesians 4:5

He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism. Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied. Acts 19:2-6

Receive the Gift of Holy Ghost - I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance. but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: Matthew 3:11

But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. John 14:26

Mortify the deeds of the body - For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. Romans 8:13

Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience: Colossians 3:5

Be perfect according to the Word - That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. Ephesians 5:27

Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. Matthew 5:48

I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me. John 17:23

Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you. II Corinthians 13:11

Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus: Colossians 1:28

Old & New Covenant

Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not hear the law? Galatians 4:21

For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: Romans 8:3

I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.
Galatians 2:21

For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second. Hebrews 8:7

For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith. Galatians 3:10-11

God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good? Numbers 23:19

So, we can live under the old law if we chose to and God will do just want he said under the law, but a new covenant was given through Jesus Christ and no one continuing in the old law will be justified. (The Old Testament is where some will take you, using God's word deceitfully for their gain.)

Tithes and Offerings

First of all, tithing is under the old law, which was discussed, in the previous topic. People please WAKE UP, if you are paying tithes you are LOST and this scripture applies to you:

And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not. II Peter 2:3

Yet they continue to talk about prosperity as if it were the way to heaven. Well, let me tell you that it isn't.

And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth. Luke 12:15

I've never heard the pastor's that preach tithing and prosperity teach on the following scriptures:

And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give. Provide neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses, Nor scrip for your journey, neither two coats, neither shoes, nor yet staves: for the workman is worthy of his meat. Matthew 10:7-10

This goes back to faith, do we not believe God will take care of our needs not our greed. I believe more so those who take His Word to lost souls. This is where those whose hearts are right and are grateful for the Word will give to the preachers truly sent from God who is concerned about the soul.

Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. Hebrews 13:5

You can't pay God. Everything belongs to Him, your very life belongs to Him. He knows the heart and if it is right you will give where there is need.

Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. II Corinthians 9:7

For the scripture saith, Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn. And, The labourer is worthy of his reward.
I Timothy 5:18

Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Matthew 6:19-21.

Marriage/Divorce

"From the beginning it was not so", "What therefore God hath joined together, let NO man put asunder", and "Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her. And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery", What part of these quotes from the Bible do we not understand? The Bible states that Adultery shall not inherit the kingdom of God. It's plan to me I hope it becomes plan to you!

The following scriptures clearly show that Divorce is not something God approves of:
Matthew 5:31-32, Matthew 19, Mark 10, Luke 16:18

And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband: 11 But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife. But to the rest speak I, not the Lord: If any brother hath a wife that believeth not, and she be pleased to dwell with him, let him not put her away. Corinthians 7:9-11.

For the LORD, the God of Israel, saith that he hateth putting away: for one covereth violence with his garment, saith the LORD of hosts: therefore take heed to your spirit, that ye deal not treacherously. Malachi 2:16

Pastor or Hireling

Question: what do you think pastors would do if, churches switched from salaries to love offerings?

But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep. The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep. John 10:12-13

Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine. For the scripture saith, Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn. And, The labourer is worthy of his reward.
1 Timothy 5:17-18

Living Holy

Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. I Peter 1:16

Have you been born again according to the Word of God (Acts 2:38)? If so, then the following scriptures tell us how we that are born again should live.

According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Ephesians 1:4

That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. Ephesians 5:27

For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world. I Corinthians 11:31-32

 TAKE OFF THESE:

Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, lust, covetousness, anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth, lying, filthiness, foolish talking, jesting, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, effeminate, abusers of themselves with mankind, thieves, drunkards, revilers, extortioners, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like. ALL SIN!

Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. Galatians 5:21

PUT ON THESE:

Love, joy, peace, righteousness, godliness, patience, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, lowliness, meekness, longsuffering, forbearing one another, and forgiving one another.

And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

Ephesians 4:24

Just imagine for a moment what the world would be like if we put off sin and put on the attributes of living holy. Keeping the Golden Rule in mind.

DO UNTO OTHERS AS YOU WOULD HAVE THEM DO UNTO YOU!

Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets. Matthew 7:12

For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power. I Corinthians 4:20

If you indeed have on the name of Jesus Christ and have received the gift of the Holy Ghost, then you are equipped with the power to live holy without spot or blemish. NO EXCUSES!

Why Not Trust Him?

When a person is truly in Jesus Christ, they have the power to stand when things go wrong, even in a marriage. Right? If a marriage calls for separation due to fornication and abuse, so be it. But God is clear that you are to remain unmarried or be reconciled to that spouse. The only two options given. Everything else I've heard has no scriptural backing.

But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife. 1 Corinthians 7:11

How can so many over look this scripture? If you can't repair your marriage, God is able to do anything, but fail. Why put limitations on what God can do in a marriage?

Is it that we become so hurt, bitter, unforgiving or start listening to unsaved friends that say forget them and move on to the next one?

Are we not the ones that stood before God, saying in good times or bad times, until death do we part. Were these just vain words? The Word of God states the following:

Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder. Matthew 19:6

We are the ones that stand before God and say, I do to our flesh becoming one with the one WE have chosen. Then God says let not man put asunder, yet we try to find loop holds when things don't go as planned.

If both were unsaved at the time of marriage, they were yoked up just right. But if one turns to God this is what the scripture says:

For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy. 1 Corinthians 7:14

Do we not believe this scripture? What the Lord allowed me to see is a saved spouse living holy, showing love to the unsaved spouse, allowing that sweet spirit of God to draw them. Whether it be the wife showing love and being submissive to the husband or the husband showing love and taking good care of that wife. That saved spouse is doing God's will and patiently waiting for God to save the other spouse. Why wouldn't God work this out when we are obeying His Word?

If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. John 15:7

If we say we know Him, why is it so hard to trust Him in this matter?
