Did you Know...
Everyday products such as eye shadow, hairspray, face cream and shampoo are
tested on animals. The main tests used for cosmetics are the LD 50 and the
Draize Eye test. The Draize Eye test usually includes rabbits. Rabbits are the
main animal used for these tests because rabbits can't blink and wash away the
substance. The rabbits are put in stocks so they are immobile. The
"researcher" then places 100 milligrams of a substance such as shampoo
on the rabbits lower eye lid. Sometimes the substances don't do too much damage,
but othertimes they can make the eye bleed, swell up, or go blind. The rabbits
used in this test suffer much pain. They try to get away and out of the stocks,
but the stocks are very tight. Sometimes in an attempt to get away they could
break a bone just from jerking to get out of the stocks. Why all this pain? When
there are alternatives for this! The animals need your help. Will you speak out
for them? Will you boycott the products that do test on animals. Also
