Find the formula that will give you the volume of the box for any given X.  Then using the applications of derivatives, find the X value that will give the greatest volume.  Hint:  set derivative of Area formula equal to 0.

 

Volume of a Vase

Using the application, find the formula of the curve.  Then, by rotating it around the axis, use integrals and the formula of area of a circle to find the volume of the vase.

 

Length of a Curve

Using the application, find the formula of the curve with the regression equation.  Next, put it into an integral and solve to find the length of the curve.
