Forsaken Land's Campaign

Character Creation

Character Creation.  I have realised that this is a complicated thing, and really needs to be worked on.  Basically I am looking for characters which are creative, and create based on making an appearance and atitude, not by what numbers give them best modifiers.

Determining your stats.  I will accept any method from the PHB, though if I feel you have altered your rolls I may not accpet your character, so be realistic.  Realisitic stats can be shown in the Dungeon Masters Handbook on pages 9 & 10.  Chances are you won't have 4 stats over 14.  If you feel you are going to be lucky and get a really good roll, then roll it in the channel while I am present.  If you rolls do not allow you to be the class you wish, tell me, we can fix that.

When chosing a race, you may pick from any of the standard races in the PHB and the race will be accepted.  If you choose to be a non-standard race, then it must be approved first off, this includes half-orcs, since this game isn't 3rd edition D&D.  If you decide to be a Centaur and I accept, then expect not to be able to enjoy the joys of a local inn most of the time.

When picking your languages and proficences ask if you don't know how it works.  Your intelligence score gives you so many languages.  That means in your life you can learn that many languages, that doesn't mean you start with that many unless you have an excellent reason why you think you know all those languages.  You may also use these as extra proficency slots, ontop of languages that you may learn during your life.  So basically its a double bonus.  If you decide that your character knows a lot of languages expect me to be asking lots of questions and to be looking for a good history.  You always start with your races language.  Example Elves start knowing elven automatically.

Starting gold will be the same as the Grovewood Saga.  Your starting gold for your class, times your highest level.  i.e. Level 3 [Fighter 5d4x10 = 140 x 3 (for being level 3) = 420 gp's to being with.]

Please add details to your characters. ie, descriptions, backgrounds, don't forget to include your non-weapon proficences, they are important too, infact they are more important then your rolls.  From being around certain DM's I have learned that you can create adventures and other interesting events having such information as a character description and background.  I cannot do that if I have a sheet of numbers only.

I do use encumberence.  Please calculate it yourself as accurate as you can.  A fighter with a str score of 9, isn't likely to wear plate mail armor and carry a large shield with a great helm.

I accept all classes from the PHB, and I will allow kits of the standard class & race handbook, not the netbooks, with my approval of course.  Some kits may not work out in the game.

Again,I do not accept classes from any of the Netbooks, or spells from there, though if you are trying to create a new spell for your wizard, then by all means you may use them for ideas.

.If you feel for some reason you have to be a class I have never heard or see before, then send me all the information on them, that means all of it, don't leave out the part about how they are demi-gods or anything, and I may accept them into the campaign.

Once you have read the above, feel free to end me your character.  My e-mail is "warbudgie111@hotmail.com"  If you go back to the main page and scroll to the bottom you can find it in blue, simply click and send.
