After the meeting with the coucil I got right back into learning new
spells. Meanwhile my friends decided to get things ready to take
our revenge on the goblins.
Marr went to the fletchers and was able to get a bow and purchase more
arrows. The rest hung around when suddenly a guard appeared at the
temple. The guard was wearing splint mail armor the armor of the
watchers. He was looking for Gertanes our new friend.
Gertanes came and was told infront of us that there was a hoard of
goblins outside the city gate making demands. They wanted the adventurers
who killed there clan folk. The two followed by swifthawk ran for
the gate.
At the gate the scene was pretty tense as the stand off continued.
Swifthawk took charge. He didn't get very far with the witty goblins
and decided he would go outside as he promised them, should they answer
his questions. As swifthawk arrived at the door, he winked at Gertanes
and said "When the gates open, lets attack!" or something along those lines.
The captain decided that the gates would not be opened. It was around
this point that Myelin a new face to us decided to cast a spell at the
leader of the goblins, who began to retreat as arrows pierced the ranks
of the Soldran watchers.
The watchers struck back and withing minutes the hoard was sent retreating.
The doors opened and Gertanes, swifthawk and some guards followed the
goblins into the woods. It would be the last time we ever saw swifthawk
alive. In the woods the men were ambushed by the goblins and swifthawk
was injured very badly. When Gertanes returned to get him, he returned
to the vicious goblins slicing swifthawks head clean off.
As Gertanes and what was left of his men returned to Soldran the rest of the party watched in horror, except myself, as Swifthawks body and head were returned to the city. We lost another to the goblins, this time though, it could have been avoided.
