My Information |
My name is Jody Whitlock. I was a student at Estrella Mountain Community College located in Avondale, Arizona. I have since graduated and now attend Wayland Baptist University, which is located at Luke Air Force Base in Glendale, Arizona. This project was and still is very special to me and I am very pleased and proud at the end result. This tribute to the War Dogs was a project that I selected as a special presentation for the Honors Program at Estrella. I was enrolled in History 273: The United States Experience In Vietnam from 1945-1975, taught by John Frasure. I wish to thank Frasure for working with me and for being so understanding with my indecision on a project. Thank you for your support, suggestions, and nudging! Having grown up towards the end of the war, I can remember hearing the news reports on the nightly news. I didn't fully understand what it was all about. I always knew that I felt supportive of the men that I saw on the tv screen and couldn't understand the hordes of people who were shouting against the War. After taking this class, I now have an understanding of what I was witnessing and I am still in support of the troops and our military. I may not always agree to the tactics or the reasons, but my support is still strong. I also wish to thank the men that got back to me on my request for testimonials about their experiences with the dogs and Vietnam. Thank you all for sharing your life with me, even if just a small portion. I feel blessed, honored, and fortunate. |
