Background: Bruno's Story
As long as he can remember Bruno de la Vega has lived in the monestary with the priest's. He never knew his mother of father. He was never allowed to know them. This is his story.
The oldest of all the priest's was Don Pedro, he hardlt ever came out of his home. Then only time he would come out was for the birth of a child, it seemed he was there to help in the birthing but he was looking for his replacment, for Don Pedro was a warlock of water and in the time of the rifts 77 PA Vampires roamed the land of mexico, amd if you could not affprd to hire mercenaries to kill them, you were dead. But the Warlocks of water knew that the weakness of te vampires was water the life giving fluid, and up until this point in time Don pedro had not ad to use his powers but for the services on sunday and when the rains did not come. So at th etime of his birth Bruno de la Vega was taken away and Don Pedro took him to the top of the mountains and taught him in the way of the Warlock of water.
For the first 17 years the teachings were that of normal schooling readign math, some medicine, he learned to read and write english and to speak euro. In that time he begam to notice his powers, that he could move things without touching them, bringing a glass of water to his hand from half way across the table, knowing that a door would open, seeing beings float in the sky. Don Pedro had seem this come and was waitign for bruno to start his REAL leasons as the protector of the town. Non the leasons turned to how to use a pistol, ride a horse, and most importatly how to channle his powers. the first feat of "warlocking" bruno did was to turn a 1 gallon jug of water into wine it took 6 days, he was given no food or drink other than the water he had. when he finaly acompilshed his task Don Pedro and Bruno celebrated the day by getting drunk on th ewine Bruno had just made. The leasons got harder from then on 16 hour days meditating, chating, not to mention the skills he had to learn to be member of the church.
6 long years had passed, Bruno had grown into a man, a handsome, short man. his leasons where not complete when the day came, Don pedro knew this day would come but secrtly hoped it never would have. Vampires. Vampires looking to find more "livestock". Don pedro took Bruno to the town and told him to stay in the church he need to take care of the monsters. Don pedro had also told Felipe that if any thing were to happen to him that he should take Bruno out texcoco and otu of mexico because if he, a 17 th level Warlock of water failed noone could save the town.
After 4 days the town was taken. the vampire onslaught was too much for just one man. Felipe did as he was told, but at an inn was killed by a band of thieves. This was the first time Bruno used his powers aganist a person, ever. He hurled a rock the size of a football at the head of the man who had ran Felipe thru with a knife, and then engulfed to group with a toxic gas that had them all wreching on the ground. and to the ones left of coud of pipping hot steam was cast at them, and they ran wasy writhing in pain. In no way was Bruno as powerful as his teacher Don Pedro but he was given the skills to grow and learn more as time passed, it would be a harder time with out his mentor but he knew that the time would come when his teacher, master and most of all his friend would not be with him.
In the next 2 years of his life Bruno was apt to doing jobs as a strong arm for hire. He stayed in the city where Felipe had brought him, and after the display iwth the killers word had gotten aroung that he was the man to see if you needed help of the "special" kind. Of course this help did not come free. From a family of farmers, Bruno recieved a fine black horse, so black he seemed almost blue, the hores name was Oceano. He recieved the animal for locating a spring inside a mountainand help set up the irrigation ditch for the farmers crops.
