Hey there guys, I have some house rules that you all will have to abide by the best you can.
1. This is an online Play by Email roleplaying game that is done in storyformat. All responses are done in third person and not first.
2. All messages that pertain out of the game will be preceded with the "OOC:" prefix. (Example: OOC: Hey what was that for?")
3. Responses should be checked at the minimum and responded to,if possible, at least once every two days. If you cannot, then please let us know, otherwise, I run the character NPC. If the character is NPC for what I think is too long, then it becomes one permanantly.
4. Any response that is made in the game will ALWAYS have a copy sent to me regardless of whether it is to me or another player. If you dont, then I wont know that your character is doing something.
5. Don't play this game suicidal or in a way that seems munchkin-like. You're asking to get killed then. Munchkin- Any player or character who strives to make the game hack and slash by making the most powerful character. Basically takes no interest in the game, just the powerlevel of his character.
6. Don't treat your character as a dime a dozen. I generally dont kill characters off. My guidelines are as follows: You died because:
7. No nongame related forwards unless you get permission first. We had a dispute about a forward not long ago that almost shut the PBEM down. It was a stupid argument in my opinion. Bout the respect for soldiers between two different countries.
8. Avoid killing other Player Characters. If it is in self defense or follows your character's alignment, then fine. Not out of anger outside the game though.
9. Above all have fun. Make sure that you copy all of the email addresses that you get in the subjects and make sure that you figure out who is who.
10. In all responses, leave anything anyone else wrote and reply AT THE Bottom! Make sure that you sign who you are at the beginning and end of the response. Reply at the bottom of each email. Erase all non-game related material such as hotmails adds and such. Leave the oocs in place though.
Example:
Torch:
Torch runs up to Alec, Jerry, and Tryan and lights his cigarette by forming fire in his finger. He smiles, "So, what's the plan for the battle tonight?"
OOC: Jeremy, Scott, are you two gonna go to McDonald's tonight?
11. The subject of each email response should begin with PBEM.
12. Using out of character information is forbidden. This has been an issue since the start of the game. People using knowledge from reading other posts or reading about the character from the profiles page and using it in character. If I catch someone blatantly using out of character information then I will keep it in mind and dock experience points, depending on how badly it affected the game depends on how bad the penalty. I have also seen some questionable acts that could be deemed as ooc but cleverly disguised as coincidence, if it happens to often with any particular PC, I will call the player on it. If it is purely accidental, such as you never knew if a character greeted you or not, then I will let is slide and warn ya. Dont let it happen to often.
13. I do use critical fumble rules. This is to show that even the best make mistakes at times.
14. I use the -10 to dodge projectiles and -12 to dodge rail gun fire from the GMs guide, however, I do NOT use the no bonuses rule. I find that juicers are much faster than a normal joe schmoe and would have an advantage over the slow moving one legged giant who has recently recovered from a massive head injury.
15. I allow multiplaying (one player playing more than one character) under the following conditions:
That is about all that I can remember to cover....
