Its actually made out of three 3/4" layers of solid Honduran Mahogany laminated together with epoxy under hign pressuere. The divisions create an attractive thin black line. Two small drain holes are located at the base. So no holes were drilled through the console, the cup holder was set in a thin bed of silicone. The silicone attachment is untested at this point but the concept is to "glue attach" rather than "screw attach".
