DAY-2/12: 33AM/Meslin time. Charge said, “Everyone split up, we have to find that creature. If you find it throw a blast up to draw attention.” Everyone split up in different directions, except for Ogre and Mephisto, who stayed together. Charge took off sensing something strange up ahead he halted. X-1s were hatching from eggs and dying as soon as they came out. Charge looked up the moon was full tonight. The moonlight was killing these X-1s. They could all die in one night from it, but how.
Hasbro said, “They could all die in one night but how?” He was reading a file on the X-1. Ten X-1s were dead in the compound and half a dozen seemed to be caged in the compound itself. Wormy was reading a file and said, “Guys it says that the X-1s use sunlight for energy like plants but they need it absolutely need it. If they don’t get it they fall into a state of suspended animation. If they get too little they die because that is what they feed off of. The moonlight is too little light for them, and the dark light must of put the original one to sleep. The explosion must have created enough light to wake it up and destroy its container. At night it must have hidden from the moonlight. The moonlight is the key.”
Charge shot an energy blast in the air alerting everyone and as they arrived they seen all of the X-1s dead. Lizoid looked around; there are no scent trails this was the last of them. Lizoid said, “How did you kill them all surely this isn’t the last of them, is it?” Charge said, “They died of moonlight. Why, I’m not so sure? But I do know that this is the last and none could have survived.” Everyone looked up there was no energies from X-1s. The sub X-1s still remained, how to find them was a mystery.
A Pterosaur man landed the last one; he has been watching the intruders in the compound. Hasbro turns and shoots at the Geno. It avoids it and lands in front of Hasbro. Kick star slams it down on the ground and says, “You will tell us where the others are.” The Geno looked to the side; he had no idea where anyone that he was born with was. He said, “I don’t know where anyone is, you took Bob away, that’s all I know!” Kick star got up, he knew that he was telling the truth.
Charge turned away, he knew that the X-1 race was doomed. He had only to wait an hour before they all were extinct. Everyone started to fly to the Big Tech building the other four subspecies of X-1 still remained and they can’t waste time on sentimentalities. Time was wasting and they had to find them. Everyone took off en route to Starlight City.
Ogre was wandering why they had all died because of the moonlight, Charge was wandering how long they could keep going, Mephisto wanted some food, and the others ached because of constant battle. Charge could barley keep his head on, he was slowing his speed, everyone else was doing the same. They had to land everyone was exhausted.
Hasbro and the others were taking the Geno to headquarters and it would be a long while before they reached home. Not one person was unaffected by the energy loss. Kick star wanted to go home back to Starlight City and take a long nap, but this was more important. Wormy was sleeping, his cybersuit was in vehicle mode now and he could just snooze. Kick star envied that but he didn’t hate wormy.
Charge and the others landed in a small village. Lizoid said, “Remember what I said to you Charge, and the rest of you stay here.” Mephisto said, “Charge what about the rest of the Genos?” Charge looked at him and said, “Well I think it’s okay if they stay here in Meslin. They cannot reproduce and we really can’t find them. We killed off the real threat, the X-1 that’s all that matters. I have no idea why they were killing each other. They probably thought as each other as a threat. It is puzzling.”
Lizoid walked out, “We have their basement for tonight, the compies staying there are really nice. Everyone walked to the external entrance to their basement and lowered themselves in. Lizoid said, “I’m going hunting.” Charge said, “Lizoid, we still have that deer there is enough for everyone its in your bag.” Lizoid looked, he has had the bag all along. Lizoid opened the bag and pulled out the meat, cut into steaks.
Hasbro and the others lowered themselves and landed in Kick star’s home, they will rest for the night, and the Pterosaur man was no worry. They made him promise not to attack innocent civilians and to learn from his mistakes. They let him go the night was quiet, until a large whirring went past the building and made its way to the outskirts of Starlight City and exploded. No one woke up, but from the ashes a mysterious creature stepped up from the rubble and in the moonlight flew east, in search of something.
