Hunky "Party of Five" Newcomer Andrew Levitas may have caught Claudia's (Lacey Chabert) eye, but the actor doesn't see himself as a sex symbol. "What the hell is a sex symbol? Everybody likes sex, you know," he tells TV Guide Online, "but I have nothing to say about me being a sex symbol."
Well, we certainly do - especially since it means that young Ms. Chabert is no longer a little girl. "They are definitely making an effort to show Lacey as a woman this year. And you know, she IS a woman."
Levitas, who plays Cameron, a high-school heartthrob on the Fox sudser (Wednesday, 8pm/ET), does a 180-degree turn in the upcoming film version of the cult-hit play "Psycho Beach Party". "My character, a surfer, is someone who flies of the handle real quick," he explains. "So when people start dying around him, he's got some serious issues, to say the least. He also deals with some sexuality issues all the way through the movie. So, really, he doesn't know who he is and doesn't find himself until the very end of the movie."
The actor adds that he had a blast working on the project, "I mean, we shot on the beach for five weeks, six weeks, seven weeks - whatever it was! You're talking about great actors hanging out with great material that's real loose and real over the top and real campy and real fun. The best comedy comes when you are having a good time." - Jonathan Reiner and Lauren Kane |
