Ithil [Moon] Weapons & Adornments.

There are a variety of different weapons the Holy Warriors of Sehanine Moonbow use. This is the major reason why certain warriors in The Knights of the Seven Sacred Mysteries are chosen. When an Ithaman reach a certain age and maturity, they are to train the novices to find which weapons best suit the wielder.

The Generals do not wish to burden a person with a weapon they can not master or wield. During the training, they keep careful notes of requirements the weapons should be for each individual. Also, they record each Ithaman's weaknesses and strengths. They also report those novices who could never become Warriors of the Moon or the Knighthood of the Mysteries.

The novices who can not seem to master weaponscraft are exempt from ever being promoted to Warrior of the Moon status or Knighthood of the Mysteries. Other Instructors will pay extra special attention to ferret out the individual's skills.

There has been insistances where a Ithaman excells in magic and weaponscraft. They are usually accepted instantly within the fold of the Knighthood unless the Ithaman refuses. The Ithaman do have the obtion of choosing their path [to certain limits. This means, if the records show a certain Ithaman should enter the Knighthood of the First Mystery..but they wish to work their way up than oppose skipping others.. they have this options}

A month before an Ithaman's promotion to Warrior of the Moon or Knighthood of the First Mystery, the Generals present their requirements to the Matron. The Matron would then send off the reports to Alunae officials. These officials will travel to the Echle Mountains where the gray dwarves who follow Laduguer dwell.  The reports are thus given to Dwarven Head Blacksmith.

Why Laduguer dwarven followers? They are loners. The moon elves only visit the gray dwarves once a month for requirements of weapons or adornments for Sehanine's temples. The dwarves enjoy this solitude and ability to create a such things out of the precious metal {Laioen} they are surrounded by.

The followers of Laduguer are known for their reknown skill of creating magical weapons. They are the only dwarves or known creatures that know how to properly smelt the metal where its malleable. This swells their heads in which they gloat over their distant kin they often mock.

With each request of weapons, the moon elves leave the appropriate amount of moonstones to complete the weapons. The stones give balance and heightens Laioen's special attributes.

Ithilblade- The entire pommel, hilt, handle and blade are forged from Laioen. The pommel, a master craftsman [dwarven] painfully etches the symbol of Sehanine Moonbow upon the round smoothness. In the center of the Moon symbol, they artfully place a moonstone. The hilt is rather plan save for a moon and splattering of stars and one moonstone in the center. Three more moonstones are placed on the middle of the blade, evenly spaced.

Ithilbows & Ithilcrossbows- The entire bow's body [including the cross bow] is constructed of Laioen save for the wire/string. In different spots of each Bow and Cross bow {this is the same with the Ithilblades] are moonstones. Each weapon has a total of five moonstones placed upon it. Laioen and the Moonstone creates a magnetic bond, so its virtually impossible for a weapon to lose its stones.

Each bow holder receives a certain amount of arrows. The holders of these weapons can request more arrows..but only once a month can they do this.

Ithilpike & Ithilspear- The blades of the pike and spear are created from Laioen. Indifferent spots, smaller moonstones are placed to balance the energy the metal could absorb from the moon. Their bodies are constructed from the Ashwood tree because of its known for its tough and elastic qualities. Mostly it depends on which wood is readily available. Some of these pikes and spear's bodies can be made from the rowan tree {because of its ability to aid and protection against enchantment} or oaks.

Ithilshields- Like the swords, these are made fully from Laioen with moonstones embedded. Each warrior has an option to carry a shield if that is what they want. A few warriors wish not to be burdened with a sheild and believe their mounts and weapons protect them well enough.

Ithil Adornments

Every Ithaman, cleric, priest/priestess, warrior, etc wears a rounded flat disc/medallion {two to three inches in diameter] of Laioen. Since the dwarves have an abundance of this metal at their disposal, they create the chain.

The wearers can still call forth the moon's energy with their medallions, but only a feeble amount. Combined with their weapons, the amount is wonderous.

The dwarves etch a full moon with a moonbow [opaque milky cresent] upon each disc. They leave off the moonstones only because novices receive these tokens and can not comprehend the usage of the moonstones. Only those higher than an Ithaman are allowed to wear moonstones.

The dwarves even create the priestly/priestessly diadem's that are worn on the head.. Sometimes these diadem's have a moonstone pendant dangling about the brow.
