Meiling is very possessive of Syaoran and sees Sakura as a threat to her and Syaoran's future. This fuels Meiling to become jealous of Sakura, and she tries very hard to show Sakura that she is better than her. Eventually. Meiling becomes friends with Sakura and their rivalry dies down.
When Syaoran tells Meiling that he is in love with someone else, she takes it hard, but after talking about it with Tomoyo and getting her feelings out, she realizes that she should not stand in the way of her cousin's love. She and Tomoyo make many attempts to get Syaoran and Sakura together during the second season.
Meiling becomes much more mature than she was in the beginning of the story. Meiling eventually heads back to Hong Kong near the end of Card Captor Sakura.
