George Watson:
a miner at the
Washington Glebe Pit
Dear Audrey,                                          December 2006

My wife June found your site while researching my family history in Washington. I don’t know if you remember me JEFF WATSON. I attended the Washington Grammar School from 1959 to 1964. I would love to hear from anyone who wants to make contact. Please email me at
jeff@jwatson.biz

My father George Watson was a miner at the Glebe Pit in Washington, retiring after 48 years of service. Dad had five brothers who were all miners in Washington. He vowed I would never be allowed to go down the pit!

The following photo of the Glebe Pit Officials was taken in 1952.
My dad, George Watson, is in the front row, far left.
