Captain. Mario is a member of The Parkway Line. Named to the Second Annual American Collegiate Hockey Association Division I All-Star Team (2008-'09). Named All-Conference to the College Hockey Mid-America 1st Team (2008-09). Finished collegiate hockey career as W&J's ACHA Division I scoring leader with 173 career points. Established a new single season scoring record at Washington & Jefferson with 70 points. Set career highs in games played (41), goals (23), assists (47), and points (70). Scored a short-handed goal for the 60th of his career in 4-3 win vs. West Virginia University in the Quarter-Finals of the 2009 CHMA Playoffs at the Ice Castle in Castle Shannon, PA. Nominated for Team USA for the 2009 World University Games in Harbin, China. Mario scored his 150th career point on a goal vs. Slippery Rock (1.28.09) in a 4-3 win at the Iceoplex. Scored first career hat trick along with 4 assists for a career-high 7 point night at Maryland (1.23.09) in 11-4 W&J win at The Gardens Ice House in Laurel, MD. Picked up 100th career assist vs. John Carroll (1.31.09). Had a 5 assist night vs. John Carroll (1.31.09) in 10-2 win at the Iceoplex. Had a 5 point night versus Villanova (9.27.08) in which he scored 1 goal and assisted on 4 others in a 7-4 win vs. Villanova at the Iceoplex at Southpointe. Scored two short-handed goals and added an assist in a 9-2 win versus Maryland (10.10.08) at the Iceoplex at Southpointe. Named to the First Annual American Collegiate Hockey Association Division I All-Star Team (2007-'08). Washington & Jefferson College Ice Hockey Offensive Player of the Year ('07-08). ACHA Academic All-American ('07-08). Scored 13 goals and added 27 assists for second-consecutive 40 point season with just 8 penalty minutes. Scored a goal and added a helper versus West Virginia in Washington & Jefferson's 2008 College Hockey Mid-America Championship victory (2.24.08). Notched career point # 100 on an assist (2.23.08) vs. Duquesne during the 2008 College Hockey Mid-America Semi-Finals at the Ice Zone in Boardman, OH to become a member of the President Century Club. Dished out 5 assists in 8-4 win at Mercyhurst (11.3.07). Scored two goals at West Virginia (10.19.07) and vs. Indiana University of Pennsylvania (1.9.08).

Played in 38 games tallying 19 goals and dishing out 22 assists for a total of 41 points. Scored 4 power play goals to go along with 3 short handed goals. Had a 6 point game versus Duquesne (11.15.06) with 1 goal and 5 assists. Scored game winning goal to end a shootout in 7-6 win versus Robert Morris University at the 2007 Pittsburgh College Hockey Showcase at Mellon Arena (1.5.07).

Scored 5 goals and added a team leading 16 assists as a freshman. Scored first collegiate goal versus Eastern Michigan (10.13.05) in a 5-3 Presidents' win. Notched first point with an assist versus Penn State in first game (10.05.05) at the Iceoplex. Scored two goals versus Robert Morris College (IL) on 1.20.06. Assisted on game winning goal vs. #1 Rhode Island at the Iceoplex at Southpointe in a 1-0 Presidents' win (12.10.05).

BEFORE WASHINGTON & JEFFERSON COLLEGE
Captain of Team Pittsburgh at the 2005 Chicago Showcase. Led team in scoring throughout the tournament. Helped lead team to the Frozen Four of the Chicago Showcase in Bensenville, IL with victories over defending champion Team California and Team Wisconsin. Played high school hockey for two years ('03-04 & '04-05) at Montour (McKees Rocks, PA). Finished second in scoring in the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Hockey League (PIHL) AA in '04-05 with 30 goals and 35 assists for 65 points. Scored 17 goals and added 20 assists for 37 points in '03-04. Helped lead team to playoffs during those two years and were amongst the top teams in the State of PA. Twice named as one of PA Hockey's Top 25 Players during the 2003-2004 and 2004-2005 seasons. PIHL Player of the Month in December 2005. A two-time PIHL All-Star during his two years at Montour ('03-04, '04-05). Named to the PA Hockey Directors' Dozen in '04-05 at the PA Hockey Showcase. Named to the '04-05 Management Science Associates Sports Network All-Icers Squad.
