(2008-2009 HIGHLIGHTS) Needing additional defensemen entering the season, Stryffeler moved back to defense for the Presidents during the 08-09 campaign. All he did then was proceed to win W&J's Defensive Player of the Year Award. Stryffeler was one of W&J's most reliable defensemen as he logged serious minutes throughout the games as well as on the penalty kill and power play. Despite playing defense for the Presidents, Stryffeler was able to notch 20 points for the season. Stryffeler scored a goal and added 2 assists for a 3 point night vs. Villanova (9.26.08) in an 8-3 win at the Iceoplex at Southpointe. Zach assisted on two goals vs. Slippery Rock (1.28.09) in a 4-3 win at the Iceoplex at Southpointe..
