Twilight Jewels is the first series of Star Secrets.  There is four total.

The pictures I have on this site I have gotten from other sites (but I lost their web addresses _ _  ).  These pictures help to give an idea of what a Butterjewel looks like.

A Butterjewel is a creature like a pegasus and unicorn combined plus it has a star shaped jewel on its forhead.  "Butter" was taken from the word "Butterfly" because it has butterfly like wings (except the wings are thicker to give it support; it won't be able to fly until the next series).  The word "Jewel" came because of the jewel on its head.  The jewel is the source of its power and allows it to attack.  So that is where the word "Butterjewel" came from.

History of the Butterjewels

The first Rainbowjewel was given to Nova, the main character, on the Twilight Star.  The Butterjewel is the metamorphosis form of a Cornjewel; the stage all Jewels start off as.  Nova's Butterjewel has a rainbow mane and tail.  When Dark Star attacked Twilight, Nova's Rainbowjewel was split into 7 Butterjewels (one of each color from the original) and their powers have been sealed into rings (you have to read the first 2 episodes to understand the rest).

Other Jewels

Of course, the Butterjewel is only Nova's special creature.  The Unijewel is Tsuki's Jewel.  (Tsuki is Nova's best friend and the two fight together).  There are other Jewels that will be coming in later.

Firewidows

Firewidows are not jewels, but black horses with a fire main and tail and a gray star on its forehead.  They are Dark Star's Jewels and so the enemies of the others.  Dark Star is able to create many of these creatures.  They are quite strong and, unlike most bad guys, they do have their moments where Nova, Tsuki, and their Jewels, lose.

Attacks

There are no official attacks until the ending of the "Twilight Jewels" series.  Until then, their main attacks are Attack Power and Healing Power.  Got to start off with the basics.  :p
