Kachie!
Episode 1:
Doing the Tango
(A town is on fire. People are running around, parents grabbing
their children, loading up on wagons drawn by horses. Meanwhile, a group of evil people wearing black
are terrorizing the people, breaking into houses and vandalizing the peoples’
precious things and belongings. The
fires are burning as some wagons manage to escape the town while others are
still loading. In a little cottage, a
heavy set woman is standing in front of her house with a broom in her
hand. She is wearing an apron. The woman watches the panicked people. She is nervous. Two tall, muscle men come up to her)
One man:
Let us in, lady, or we’ll burn your house down!
The other man: We’re serious! We will do anything to get our way! (the woman steps
aside)
Woman: You
may come in, but you won’t find anything.
(the two men shove the lady aside and run into
the house which they quickly start ransacking.
The woman comes in as well. She walks
calmly to a wall with a beach picture on it.
She turns around as the men destroy her home.)
The other man: There is nothing here.
First man:
Let’s go. (The first man starts
to hurry out of the house)
The other man: Wait a minute. (the other man walks
up to the lady) What kind of fools do
you think we are? You are hiding
something! (he
tries to push the lady away. The lady
holds her broom in front of her and tries to block the man.) You are strong…for a lady.
Woman: Do not
underestimate me because I am a woman.
You will not find what you are looking for, even if you kill me.
First man:
Shut up, woman! (he smacks the woman.
The woman drops her broom and falls to her knees with her hands on her
cheek)
The other man: There must be something here. (he picks up the
picture hanging on the wall. There is a
number keypad.) Woman, what’s the
password?
Woman:
(looking at the other man) Why would I tell you that?
The other man: Why you…(he kicks
the woman. Hard. The woman rolls across the floor. The first man walks up to her and puts his
boot over her head.)
First man:
If you don’t tell us what the code is, I’ll squish your head flat!
Woman: It
makes no difference if you kill me.
You’ll never figure out the code.
First man:
(angrily) Why
do you have to make this so difficult! (he raises his boot and is about to stomp on her face when
they hear a noise)
Old man:
What is going on? I heard a large
crash and it woke me up. (the other man quickly runs up to the old man. He puts his arm around him)
Woman:
No! Don’t hurt him! (the other man keeps
his boot on her face so she can’t move)
First man: I
won’t hurt him as long as you tell me the code.
Woman: I…I…I
cannot do that,
Fist man:
Then I cannot guarantee this man’s safety. (he punches the old
man in the chest)
Woman:
Father!!!!!! (the
woman manages to free herself from the other man. She runs to the old man and the first man) (on her knees) Please don’t hurt him anymore! Please!
(looking away; quietly) I’ll tell you the code.
First man:
It’s about time!
Woman: The
code is 2496.
The other man: (runs to the number keyboard) Great! Now we can see what this woman’s been trying
to hide! (the
first man joins the other man. the woman puts her arms around the old man. She looks up at them, nervously)
The other man: Here it goes!
(he types in the code. The wall starts to shake. The two man step back and the woman watches,
terrorized. The wall starts to raise. The men’s eyes
start to glow as a bring light shines out. The wall finally lifts up. Both men run inside excited)
Both men at the same time: We did it!
We did it! We…(they
stop in mid-tracks. They find themselves
standing in a garden, filled with beautiful flowers. There is nothing there but flowers.)
First man:
(angrily) You
tricked us!
The other man: You made us think you had something hidden
here! Not just some stupid garden!
Woman:
(walking toward the wall) This garden is special. You should not be deceived by looks.
The other man: You really tricked us. We’ll make you pay for this! (pulls out a match
from his pocket)
Woman:
No! Anything but that! (she tries to run
and stop the man. The other man throws
the match into the garden. The flowers
start to burn.)
First man:
Serve you right, lady! (both men run out laughing)
Woman: My
flowers! (she
takes off her apron and tries to suffocate the flames with it. The fire grows bigger. The woman bends on her knees and starts to
cry in frustration. One purple flower,
in the back of the bed, sits there while the flames rise over it. Above the flower is a fairy who watches the
flowers burn, dissatisfied.)
*************************************************************
(It’s a beautiful day. Three men with a map are walking toward a
cave)
Man 2: The
cave should be right over here…
Man 1: There
it is!
Man 3: Let’s
go see if it’s inside! (all three men start running toward the cave entrance when
something jumps in front of them. All
three stop dead in their tracks. They
watch as the person blocking their way looks up)
Person:
You really shouldn’t go in there.
Man 1: Get
out of our way!
Man 3: We
have all right to go in there!
Man 2: Yeah!
Person:
(standing up)
If you insist…
Man 3: Wait…(draws back, mouth hanging open) It’s…it’s YOU!
Person:
That’s right! (spinning
around) I’m the one who follows villains
in search for the Endurance Stone. The one who stops them and makes them pay double for their selfish
goals. Yes, it is I! Rinbu!
And now it is your turn to suffer the consequences! (Rinbu is roughly 15 years old)
Man 1: (all
three men step back nervously. Man 1
nods his head and all three draw swords) We don’t care who you are. You are in our way, so we have no other
choice than to kill you.
Rinbu:
(standing there, calmly) Fine by me. Give it your best shot.
Man 2: That
girl’s got a lot of moxie!
Man 1: I
don’t care. The only thing I want to see
is her head on the ground. (The men are
about to make their way to Rinbu, when another shadow jumps in front of
them. All three men pause)
Man 2: Now
who is this? (the
17 year old woman raises her head and her sword. She is wearing black leather boots and black
pants. She also has black hair about 3
inches past her shoulders and green eyes)
17 Woman:
My name is one you will only hear once.
Not one enemy I have encountered has lived. All have had a taste of my sword. So I, Tesoro, shall now take your lives.
Rinbu: (eyes
glowing) Tesoro! You’re my hero! I can’t believe it’s really you!
Tesoro:
Shut up, little girl. (Rinbu’s
excitement quickly fades) The only
reason why I’m here is to stop the Midnight Fangs from trying to find the
Endurance Stone. I am not here for a
game, and I don’t need any fans.
Rinbu: You
don’t plan on killing them, do you?
Tesoro: What
kind of stupid question is that!? Do you
not see my sword? Did you not hear what
I said? Of coarse I’m going to kill
them!
Rinbu: (steps
in front of Tesoro)
But you can’t!
Tesoro:
Of coarse I can! If I don’t kill
them, they will just continue to search for the stone, and then they’ll
eventually find it! I cannot let them
get away, so back off!
Rinbu: Well,
it’s too late now.
Tesoro:
Huh? (she
turns around to see the three men far away, running) (angrily) You let them get away! (she holds up her
sword. Rinbu stares at her) I cannot let you
live for that! (In the sky, a crow flies
by. It lets out a few caws. Rinbu bitterly puts her sword back) The next time I see
you, girl, I will kill you. No matter
what! (Tesoro takes off. Rinbu watches her leave)
*************************************************
(Rinbu is sitting at a table
with a little girl and a little boy next to a small little cabin. The cabin is in the middle of nowhere. Behind it is a woods,
to the left is more woods and to the right is a large field.)
Rinbu: And I
watched as the three men approached the dark, creepy cave and I…jumped out at
them! (the two
kids give a little shriek) They jumped a
mile and were even more frightened when I told them my name. (the kids giggle)
Girl: I bet
they were scared!
Boy: Did
you fight them?
Rinbu: I
wanted to make sure they would never forget my name. It was a one-sided battle, and luck was on my
side!
Kids:
Wow! (a
short old man with a long white beard comes one of the cabin holding a tray
with four cups of tea)
Old Man:
You tell such interesting stories, Rinbu. The children have a wonderful time listening
to them. (he
sets down the tea on the table) I think
you tend to over exaggerate, though.
Rinbu:
(blushing; tear drop on forehead) Now why would I do a thing like
that? (laughs
nervously. The old man shakes his head)
Voice: So
it’s you again. (Rinbu turns around to
see Tesoro. She quickly gets up)
Rinbu: If you
want to fight, then I have no other choice.
(the two girls stare at each other. Tesoro puts her hand on her sword. Rinbu stares at her. The two children watch from behind,
wide-eyed, with the old man standing behind them.)
Tesoro:
What was that?
Rinbu: (slyly) Look behind
you. (Tesoro quickly turns around. She looks and looks, but cannot see anything)
Tesoro: I
don’t see anything…(Tesoro turns around to see that
Rinbu is gone)
(angrily) She tricked me! (Tesoro takes off to the right)
Old Man:
It was nice having you stay here, Rinbu.
Good-bye, and do not get killed by the crazy one. (the kids just
watch)
***************************************
(in
a field of tall flowers)
Rinbu:
(running) (thoughts) I hope Tesoro doesn’t catch up to me. She is too strong…there is no way I could
defeat her on my own!
Tesoro:
(running) You
can run all you want, but I will find you!
And when I do, I will kill you! (stops. She can’t hear
any footsteps. Tesoro cautiously walks
through the field. It is hard to see
anything because the flowers are so tall.)
Where are you, little girl? You
can’t hide forever! (a
few yards away, Rinbu ducks behind some flowers. Tesoro keeps walking) You are making this difficult only for
yourself! (Tesoro walks a little
further.) (mumbling) I can’t see anything through these stupid
flowers! (She stops quickly and pulls
out her sword. In one swipe, she cuts
down several of the flowers. Rinbu
starts to choke from her hiding place.
Tesoro swipes the flowers again and again. Rinbu slides down, her eyes are bulging) Where are you? Come out from hiding, girl! (there is a loud
noise. Rinbu is floating above the
flowers. Her eyes are glowing
a bright blue. Tesoro stares at her horrified. The sky grows dark. Rinbu gives an evil grin.) (in a scared
voice) Kachie! (Rinbu starts glowing. Tesoro holds up her sword to the sky and
closes her eyes) Sword,
on my name Tesoro, please give me protection.
(the sword starts to glow. Rinbu lets out a huge explosion. Tesoro holds tightly to her sword. The sword gives a shield that protects Tesoro
from the explosion. Tesoro clenches the
sword even tighter to block the attack.
Finally, Rinbu passes out. The
sky opens up; it is bright blue with a few scattered clouds. Tesoro puts down her sword. She is worn out. Tesoro turns around. She is shocked to find that no damage seems
to have been done) (shocked) How can that be? The flowers…it is like nothing has
happened. Like…the Kachie was only meant
to kill me…(Tesoro runs off to where she last saw
Rinbu. She finds Rinbu lying unconscious
on the ground. She stares at her, a bit
dazed)
**************************************************
(it
is night time in the middle of the woods.
There is a little camp fire)
Rinbu:
(starts to open her eyes. She
looks up to see Tesoro sitting by the fire) (nervously) Tesoro!
Tesoro:
You’re finally up. (hands over a stick with some meat on it) Here.
Eat this. (Rinbu takes the
stick. She looks at it cautiously) It is not
poison. You need to eat it to regain
your strength. (Rinbu takes a bite of
it. At first, she is nervous while
chewing it, but then she grows extremely happy and starts chomping away at the
meat. Tesoro watches her) You are a very
interesting girl. (Rinbu pauses. She puts the empty stick down on the ground)
Rinbu:
(quietly) I
caused an explosion again, didn’t I?
Tesoro:
I’ve never seen Kachie that strong.
Rinbu:
(looking down, ashamed) I hate it. I hate it.
It is too strong…and uncontrollable.
Tesoro:
Don’t you know your stimuli?
Rinbu: (nods
her head) I
wish I did. Then I would be able to
avoid it. Or at least try.
Tesoro:
That is not good that you don’t know what causes your Kachie.
Rinbu: (looking
up at Tesoro) Why
didn’t you kill me?
Tesoro:
(looks up at Rinbu)
Why do you ask? (pauses for a moment)
Your Kachie is very unusual. I
have never seen anything like that before.
I want to follow you and learn more about your it.
Rinbu: If you
follow me, will you let me live?
Tesoro:
(nods her head)
For now, yes.
Rinbu: And
you won’t kill other people, even if they are from the Midnight Fangs?
Tesoro:
(bites her lip)
I can’t guarantee that.
Rinbu:
(pauses) (holds
out hand) Sure you can join me!
Tesoro:
(looks at her hand for a moment, and then proceeds to hold out hers) Good. (the two shake
hands) Little girl, I do not want to
keep calling you ‘little girl’. What is
your name?
Rinbu:
(smiling) It’s
Rinbu. My name is Rinbu.
