| Peregrin, Pippin Took, was the son of the Thain of the Shire. As a loyal friend of Frodo Baggins, he undertook the quest of the Ring, as one of the Fellowship of the Ring. He surivived many adventures, untill its collapse, when, with his cousin, and dear friend Meriadoc Brandybuck were captured by Uruk-hai of Isenguard. Gandalf later took Pippin to Gondor, where he became a Guard of the Citadel, and helped save the life of the Steward's son, Faramir. At the battle of the Black Gate of Mordor, Pippin distinguished himself by slaying a troll. Later that year he also faught in the battle of Bywater. He and his cousin Merry were the tallest hobbits in history- due to the drinking of Ent-draughts with Treebeard. In the fourteenth year of the fourth age, Pippin became the 32nd Thain of the Shire, an reigned untill the year 64. He and Merry decided to travel to Gondor and Rohan, were they were buried with high honor in the House of Kings. |
