This is not the largest waterfall but its quaint and its in a fairly remote area more so than other sites in Hamilton where you hear other sounds like cars but not here, its quiet you even rarely see any other people. You can hear Canturbury Falls from quite a ways away before you see it and in the summer you have to get really close to it before you see it dues to thick tree cover. The falls has 2 parts to it a first drop of about 15 feet then a second drop of about 20 feet. with a ledge between to two. Both sections are cascades. The falls vary greatly from season to season. Its just a small trickle in the late summer months to a beautiful spectical in the early spring runoff. You can see pictures of both here. |
