| Racing at waterford raceway is broken into nine classes. These classes are designed to give close competitive racing and are broken down as follows: | |||||||||||||||||||||
| Class 1: Cars in this class are limited to 1000cc engines and must display a white roof colour. With Nissan Micras and Toyota Starlets making up the field this class is one the most competitive and exciting classes for both drivers and spectators alike! | |||||||||||||||||||||
| Class 2: Limited to 1250cc this class(like its class 1 counterpart) is always fiercely competitive with a multitude of engines ranging from Fiats, Peugeots and Opels. All class 2 cars display a blue roof. |

| Class 3: An extremely popular class with both drivers and spectators alike, class 3 is open to any car up to 1332cc. Front wheel drive Toyota Starlets dominate the field, Their 16 valve engines providing the power to match the rapid Opel and Fiat 1300s. Displaying a yellow roof colour | |||||||||||||||||||||
| Class 4: 1400cc or 1600cc 8v is the limit to this growing class which was created to cater for for the wide range of 1.4 litre engines now available. 1400cc 16 valve units are allowed, as is the permittance of unlimited tuning for all cars in this class. A red roof decorates all class 4 cars. | |||||||||||||||||||||
| Class 5: 1650cc engines provide the entertainment in this class, Toyota, Honda, Fiat and Volkswagen being the most popular choices. A tremendiously quick class which is open to unlimited tuning. Class 5 hot rods have a green roof colour | |||||||||||||||||||||
| Class 6: The fastest class in hot rod racing with engine size limited to 3.5 litres. There is no restrictions placed on tuning, spaceframe cars are eligible and turbo chargers are also permitted. Ford 2.0 litre,Honda 2.2 vtec and 2.8 V6's provide the necessary power and speed for many drivers. Opel XE and Peugeot units also popular in this class . A Black roof decorates all class 6 cars. | |||||||||||||||||||||
| Ladies: The ladies races are split into two seperate Championships based on engine capacity. Ladies driving class 1,2 or 3 hot rods compete against each other with lady drivers in class 4, 5 and 6 cars forming the second championship. | |||||||||||||||||||||
| Juniors1:: Drivers in this formula are aged between 12 to 17 years of age with class1 spec cars only permitted. Just like their senior counterparts, this class is always very competitive and great to watch. | |||||||||||||||||||||
| Juniors2:Drivers in this class are also aged between 14 to 17 years of age with up to class 2 spec cars permitted. | |||||||||||||||||||||
