THE CRAIC
The annual visit to Lourdes each year is a Pilgrimage and a devotion to Our Lady’s Shrine and is considered to be a very important pastoral event for the Diocese of Waterford and Lismore.

However no Irish group was ever known to travel anywhere in the world without having "the craic".  Lourdes is no exception. During our five days in Lourdes each year we pack in a lot of prayer, a lot of work and loads of " craic".

For our sick people there is always the opportunity to get out of the Accueil  and do a bit of shopping and maybe even call in to one of the many café’s and hotels for a drop. We also have a party one afternoon in the Accueil for all our sick people and also the staff and this has proved to be a very popular event.

Our staff when not working ( there is a suspicion on very warm days when some are working) can be found in the " Waterford Local", The Little Flower café which is a very short distance from the Accueil and the staff hotels. Although staff could be on duty some mornings as early as 6.00am, they have been known to be there " shortly" after midnight.

But as a Hospitalite we firmly believe that this is a very important element of our Pilgrimage to Lourdes and it is amazing the friendships that have been formed as a result of meeting each year in Lourdes. We like to think of our Hospitalite as being one big happy family.
