The Sound of Love
By Honey
"Hi Lance."
Silence
"Well, this afternoon they made me talk about you."
Silence
"What was I supposed to say?"
Silence
"I could have told them about how every second that we were apart all I could think about was how cold it was to not in wrapped in your arms."
Silence
"Maybe they wanted to know that when you did come back I held on tight and prayed I would never again have to be away from you."
Silence
"Do you think they would liked to have heard about how I used to lay my head on your chest, because if I heard your heartbeat I knew you were real, and in being real were REALLY holding me so close we were one body?"
Silence
"Then, we would look into each other's eyes. Anyone would have to appreciate the fact that your eyes could change from a soft sunny yellow to a homely apple green, but the most vibrant shade - a blazing emerald - would shine through in the heat of the moment. You said that color was only for me, and I was overjoyed to be able to see the most beautiful color in the world in my lover's eyes. Not everyone gets that."
Silence
"I was able to taste your lips - your lips that would often disguise themselves as dry and chapped, but when I placed my own on them they were soft and warm. They tasted like sunshine and honeysuckle. It's almost like childhood and innocence, but they contain more passion than any child could possess."
Silence
"I'll never forget the way you would rub and kiss every aching muscle in my body, and if it took all night you didn't care, because you loved me so much. It would have been nice for them to know that a love like your's existed."
Silence
"And I would kiss your skin and never want the it to end, because you tasted so good."
Silence
"Oh, there was that one spot - that spot along your spine and right below your waist - and if I kissed that very spot I could feel your entire body shiver below my lips. I'll never find another person with that spot again."
Silence
"I remember your warm arms around me, and I would listen to your heavy breathing. I remember smelling your sweet sweat and I fell asleep feeling so safe."
Silence
"As long as I was with you, nothing could hurt me."
Silence
"I would always be safe."
Silence
"I thought I would keep you safe, too."
Silence
"I was wrong, though."
Silence
"I'm sorry."
Silence
"I can't live without you."
Silence
"It hurts so much."
Silence
"It's not fair."
Silence
"Other people get to live. What's so special about them?"
Silence
"I know, I'm being selfish. If there's anything you've taught me, it's not to be selfish."
Silence
"I promise, I won't say those things anymore."
Silence
"Maybe I could just lie here for a while, though. There's nothing selfish about just lying here for a little bit, right?"
Silence
"I love you."

JC faced the cold tombstone and curled up into a tight ball. He cried against his knees, and moaned. All around people could hear the painful moan and knew that was the sound of love. It wasn't as beautiful as some might hope, but that was truly the sound of love.
