Summary for Watership Down
There was a very  peaceful spot that was once inhabited by many rabbits.  It was known as the Sandleford warren.  Two of the rabbits who lived there were named Hazel and Fiver.  Fiver is a special rabbit because he can sense when there is something wrong.
One morning while the rabbits had gone out to silflay, Fiver told Hazel that something was terribly wrong, and that they all needed to move.  Hazel knew that Fiver was always right about these things, and he went to the cheif rabbit about it.  Of course he refused, so Hazel and a small group of rabbits decided to run away lat one evening.  They were stopped by Sandleford's owsla, but that did not keep them.  Bigwig joined the group and they spent the night in the woods.  The group wandered around in the daylight until a river was right in their path.  Blackberry, a smart bunny, found a peice of wood that floated while here.  A dog was discovered and Fiver and Pipkin could not swim, so they quickly climbed onto the peice of wood and got safely to the other side that way.  From there, the group walked until they came to a pasture full of sweet smelling flowers.  They stayed there because they covered up the rabbit's scent.
So far the group had wandered for quite a while and were feeling miserable.   A rabbit from another warren named Cowslip offered a place in his warren to rest,  and they accepted.  Cowslip was he cheif of the warren of shining wires.  Once they came, they were very surprised.  They found all kinds of flayrah, a large warren, and lots of empty burrows.  They could not get rid of the feeling that something was wrong, though, because it smelled of humans.  Fiver could not take it anymore, so when a poem was being read, he ran away.  Bigwig and Hazel went out to find him and they did.  He told them that something was not right.  A while after that, Bigwig got caught in a snare.  Later, the rabbits found that the whole place was filled with snares.  Bigwig was freed with the help of the other rabbits from his group and they all ran away.  A long time went by after that, but Fiver found the perfect spot that they were all looking for.  It was on a high, dry spot.  When the rabbits climbed the hill, they found some unoccupied burrows with no sign of disease, so they decided to stay there for a while.  The rabbits relaxed for a while, but Hazel realized something.  He talked to Blackberry and said that there were no does at Watership Down.  He later went to the farm down the hill from them named Nuthanger farm.
