Rules & Regulations

Updated 09/11/02

1. Diddle: The away team has the option to go first in the diddle. The person closest to the middle of the bulls' eye determines the first player of each match.

2. 18 grams is the maximum weight limit on darts. Anyone found to be using heavier darts will forfeit all matches played that night.

3. Play the board as it reads. Players can not touch the board or the darts at any time, even if you throw early or the darts do not register correctly.

4. Players must all shoot from behind the dart line established by the bar. Intentionally shooting over the line will result in a forfeiture of the game.

5. Players are responsible for the five dollars ($5.00) per player fee for each week even if they use a substitute. If a team forfeits the entire match, the player fee must be paid. The team captains will be responsible for money each week even if using a substitute. All twenty dollars ($20.00) must be turned in each week with the play sheet.

6. Players are to give courtesy to the board next to them, but this does not mean you have to wait for the other player. Just be courteous.

7. Starting time is 7:30 pm with a fifteen (15) minute late rule. If the opposing team is not on the premise by 7:45 then they forfeit the match and all 13 points are awarded to the opposing team. Both teams are responsible for the player's fees for that night even if the match is forfeited.

8. The match may begin with three players but the team will have to forfeit the fourth players match in singles and doubles. If the player does come late then he or she may jump in at any time during the match but may not go back and make up any lost or missed matches. However, teams beginning with four players must throw all matches and finish with four players. Teams can play out 701 matches with three players without skipping the fourth players turn.

9. Matches can be postponed if the team captain calls the opposing team captain and league official 24 to 48 hours in advance to set up a make-up match before the next regular league night. The make-up match must be played before the next regular league night or a forfeit will be awarded. Make up matches must fit into the opposing team's schedule.

10. Teams must turn their roster in to the league secretary by the second week and must include names, addresses and telephone numbers for all players and team captain.

11. All players and substitutes must be at least 21 years of age.

12. The sponsor fee of Twenty Dollars ($20.00) per team must be paid be the second week of league play.

13. Player Change Button: If the player change button was not pressed and play resumes before the situation is noticed, the player making the mistake is responsible for the quarters to reset the machine to where the board read prior to the mistake being made. If both teams cannot agree on how the score read, the team which was ahead at the time of the mistake wins. Or a protest must be filed and a special meeting will be called to determine the winner.

14.  Playoffs: Any player starting the play-offs with one team cannot play with another team. The playoff schedule will be determined and voted on by team captains prior to league play.

15. Format: Each singles, doubles and 701 match win will be awarded one point. The 701 match will be open in / double out. Play all boards as they read, double or single bulls' eye. You must keep your player order as listed in the singles at the top of the play sheet. No one is able to leave and continue a game. ALL THREE (3) 701 matches will be immediately forfeited. Teams must diddle at the beginning of each game to determine which team will go first.

16. Any substitute playing with one team more than 10 matches is automatically on that team's roster. Substitutes must play at least (5) times in the regular season to qualify to participate in the playoffs. But not necessarily for the same team.

17. Team captains (or representative) from the winning team will be responsible to turn in the play sheet and all monies ($40.00) at Kegler's Lounge before closing on Friday following the match. Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of the winner's match. However, the losing team will not gain.

18. Protests: To file a protest, the captain of the team suffering the offense must call a member of the grievance committee immediately upon the occurrence of the offense and in the presence of the opposing team's captain.

19. The elected grievance committee shall have total control in enforcing all of the above rules in the event of an offense. Rules are an evolutionary process, as an abuse occurs a rule will be written.
