Tom Eplin made his debut in the world of soaps on the long running show Another World in February of 1985, as the disreputable rogue Jake McKinnon. However, this past July marked one year since Eplin moved his character to Oakdale on As The World Turns. | ||||||||||||||||||||
Born October 25, in Hayward California, Eplin has studied with the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco, performing in such productions as Bus Stop and Bent. He has formerly studied acting with Joan Darling and Alan Rich and in recent years has lead his own acting seminars. | ||||||||||||||||||||
He has had guest roles on various primetime series including, The Facts of Life, 240 Robert and Private Practice. Film credits for this actor include leading roles in Discovery Bay, Sunset Strip and Enchanted Evening, as well as producing a feature film entitled Delta Fever and a television series pilot, called Odd Jobs. | ||||||||||||||||||||
Eplin was honored, in 1995, with a Soap Opera Award for Outstanding Lead Actor. He won another award for Outstanding Scene Stealer in 1996 and was nominated, again in 1998 for Outstanding Lead Actor. | ||||||||||||||||||||
In his time away from work Eplin enjoys piloting his plane and living by the water in his Long Island, NY home. | ||||||||||||||||||||
