| JESSIE: Taylor grabbed my hand and pulled me through the doors, leading me back into the noise of the reception abruptly. We said our goodbyes and I kissed my mother and father in law, and hugged them both tightly. The came the round of hugs and kisses from the little ones, and then the rest fo my family. I hugged Jacob, then kissed him on the cheek. "Thank you, Jacob. For everything. I'll see you in about a week." I said as he gave me a squeeze. "Later gumby.." he grinned. "Try not to wear the poor guy out too bad, sis. He does have to go back out on the road." he whispered in my ear. I socked him in the shoulder as I pulled away from him. "That's enough outta you.." I said indignantly, but couldn't keep from laughing. "Uh-huh.." he gave me a knowing smile. "Rabbits.." he whispered and I socked him again. "GOODBYE JACOB.." I said and rolled my eyes, making Taylor laugh. "See ya, gumby.." he grinned and gave me a light brotherly shove. Zac and Watts had rejoined us by then so I hugged Wattley and pulled her a little aside. "Everything okay, now?" I asked. She nodded. "You TOLD him, right?" She nodded again and her eyes filled with tears as she smiled. "Good." I hugged her again. "We'll talk as soon as I get back, okay?" "Have a wonderful time Jess." she grinned. "And try to come out of your room long enough to be able to tell me where you actually went. Lacey won't even tell ME, Tay threatened her with a fate worse than death.." she laughed. |
| "You got it babe.." I said and hugged her quickly. "Have fun Jess.." Zac said and took me from Watts, hugging me tightly. "We will Zac.." I hugged him back. "Thanks for the keys, too.." he grinned down at me. "No sweat, bro. Just don't smash it.." I laughed. "Don't worry." he hugged me again. "Thanks Jess.." he said softly and I looked up at him. "What are sisters for?" I asked and poked him in the belly. "Keep an eye on the house for me too, would you? Key is on the ring.." "Yup! See ya in a few days.." Taylor offered me his arm and I linked mine through it. He led me to the doors that would open to the staircase leading to the front doors. Dave and Gary appeared out of nowhere and led us to the rented car, through the still screaming mass of people outside. We waved again as the cameras flashed all around us, and then Tay gave me a hand into the car, holding my door for me. Dave slid into the front seat with the driver and then we slowly pulled away. "Airport, Taylor?" Dave asked. "Yeah...please." he said, never taking his eyes from my face. I caressed his cheek and smiled. "C'mere baby.." he slipped his arm around my shoulder and pulled me closer as I laid my head on his shoulder. "I love you Jessie.." he said softly and kissed the top of my head. "I love you, too, Taylor.." I sighed and snuggled into him, closing my eyes while we rode the rest of the way in silence. |
| TAYLOR: As Jess sat silent with her head on my shoulder, I stroked her hair and watched out the window. Soon we were approaching the airport, and thank goodness it was late enough that there wasn't that big a crowd outside. Jess looked at me and smiled, "Vultures are probably hounding the rest of the family, Tay." she sighed then and looked a little sad. "They're used to it, Jess. Don't worry, baby." I told her. "Kay.." she sighed again and stretched, using the opporunity to slide her arms around my neck. I pulled her closer, and kissed her sweet smelling neck and moving soft kisses to her cheek. "Mmmm.." she purred and turned to let her lips meet mine. She tasted sweet and I was reluctant to let go of her when the driver stopped the car. "Okay kids..cut that out or you'll miss your flight." Dave laughed as he opened the door for us. The driver was busy getting our luggage, and he kind of used it as a barracade against the small crowd that had formed. I stepped out of the car and gave Jess a hand, pulling her to my side as we made our way to the automatic doors. She smiled at the crowd and we waved as if one person again, then passed through the doors. Dave and the driver checked our luggage and saw us to the gate where our private plane waited. "Tay! You could have booked a regular flight.." Jess gasped, surprised. "Not this time, baby. I'm not sharing you with anyone this week.." I said directly into her ear. I smiled when she shivered slightly, knowing it drove her insane when I did that. I slipped my arm around her small waist and let my hand rest on her hip while we waited for our luggage to be loaded. "Have a nice trip, guys.." Dave said, smiling. "See ya next week. I dunno what I'm gonna do now that I don't have to run after you like I'm training for a marathon, Jess." he chuckled, which made her laugh. |
| "Take care of Wattley and Zac for me.." she said. "That oughta keep ya busy." "Not really, but I will Jess." he said seriously. "Thank you Dave. See you next week.." she smiled and kissed his cheek, shocking him. I shrugged my shoulders and grinned. What could I do? Jess was an affectionate person, but the kind of kiss she gave him was the same she gave her brother, my brothers and my father. She saved the best part of her love for me and I knew that without a doubt. "See ya Dave," I chuckled. "Thanks man.." "Yeah.." he said, still stunned, as I led my wife to the small plane through the door that had just been opened for us. I followed Jess up the small stairs, lugging both of our carry-on bags over my shoulder. She took them from me as she got inside and handed them to the co pilot, who stowed them securely and then showed us where our seat belts were. Jessie held my hand tightly as we taxied down the runway and then the pilot announced that we were cleared for take off. She laid her head on my shoulder again as we took off, placing her other hand over our two that were clasped together. Once we were airborne, she relaxed a little and sighed. "Feeling okay, baby?" I asked, looking down at her. "Mmm-hmm. Just a little uncomfortable.." she said, sat up, and began pulling pins from her hair. I had to hold my breath as she shook it out and ran her fingers through it, she looked so incredibly sexy. She smiled over at me, and kissed me sweetly. "Actually, baby.." she began, "I'd REALLY like to change my clothes." "Kay..." I grinned and reached for her bag. "Come on..." I urged, grabbing mine, I was getting a little uncomfortable myself, still in my heavy suit. "I'm coming.." she grinned, and followed me to the back of the plane. |
