When we left the hallway that opened into the gate area Jake was standing there waiting, looking rather impatient. Jess saw him and immediately squealed, "JAKEY!" he smiled and held his arms out to her and she hugged him fiercely as he picked her up and swung her. "Hey sis...you don't look too bad for someone that hasn't slept for five days." he joked. She socked him in the shoulder when he set her down. "Don't start with me, bud. I just got home and I actually missed you when I had time to think about it." Jake laughed and ruffled her hair and Jess ducked and then smoothed it back down in their normal sibling ritual. "Wassup bro?" he grinned at me and stuck his hand out to shake mine. "Not much dude.." I shook his hand and grinned. "Dave's already down looking for you bags, since it took you so long to get off the plane. What took you?" he asked. Jessie giggled, "Tay had to sign a CD for the attendant. She was nice.." Jake nodded and fell into step with us, taking Jessie's bag from me and automatically moving to her other side. I looked at him over her head and mouthed, "I need to talk to you." He nodded his head and mouthed back, "I know.." I nodded again as we rounded the corner to the baggage area. I saw Dave lugging our suitcases off the carousel at the same time Jess did. "DAVE!" she smiled and gave him a wave. "Hey Jess, Tay. Have a good trip?" he grinned. "Yeah...it was nice. And not hot as hell outside either." she laughed. "Wait 'till you get outside HERE then.." he told her and then we all laughed as she groaned. She immediately took off the overshirt she was wearing and tied it around her waist. I sucked in my breath at the beauty of her brown smooth shoulders and her full breasts straining against the thin fabric of her tank. She took her bag from Jake and let him take a suitcase from Dave and we follwed them through the doors that led to the desk area. "Quick, you guys, I think we beat them.." Dave said, and hurried us to the waiting car. The heat hit us like a ton of bricks and Jess groaned as I helped her quickly into the car. Just as I stepped in and slid beside her, I heard the familiar yell and suddenly the car was surrounded. Jake and Dave held them back as they got in and then airport security cleared a path for him. |
JESSIE: As we pulled away from the airport, I looked up at Taylor and sighed. "I know baby.." he said, taking my hand and holding it in his lap. "Aww, Tay. It's not that. I just wish they realized that someone could get hurt. I'd hate that.." "Yeah. I've thought about that too. It's too bad that they'll probably have to learn the hard way." I sat shocked for a minute, not knowing why. "Jess?" Tay squeezed my hand. "I'm sorry baby. I must still be a little tired, I kinda spaced there a minute.." I tried to laugh it off, but losing it like that without knowing why made me nervous. Before Taylor could tell me he was on to me (and I knew he was from the look on his face) Jake and Dave were suddenly full of questions, and I gladly let Tay answer most of them. As we got out toward home, Jake turned suddenly to me. "Diana specifically asked me to ask YOU," he grinned, "if you feel like having dinner with them. She said she'd understand if you were tired, though." I smiled at my brother then looked to my husband for the answer, I would have been happy either way. I was just glad to be home. "Up to you Jess.." he said. "Okay. Then I think we should. I missed them and I'm dying to see the looks on the kids faces' when they open their presents." I told him. "But first, I need a shower and some coffee. I can't seem to wake up." |
"Okay, Jess." Jake said. Taylor put his arm around me and I laid my head on his shoulder. Jake turned the conversation to how he had arranged my schedule to fit all the photo shoots in before my stoamch became too obvious for the kind of pictures needed, and my head spun at the thought. But I was glad, I wouldn't have time to realize how much I missed my husband. He also told me that Watts' had more offers than even he could keep track of. "That's so great, Jake. She works so hard..." I gushed, truly happy for my friend. "Oh and she talked Lacey into getting her teaching certification.." "Thank god!" I sighed in relief, "I can just see me trying to teach a class with an eight month belly.." I rolled my eyes, "I could do it, but the class would be dead from laughter halfway through." "Jessie! They would not.." Tay laughed and tucked my hair behind my ear. "Fine then. I would be. Besides I hate teaching classes. I feel so phony, but Watts' and Lace are cut out for that kind of thing..I suck at it." I giggled. "I've seen you teach, don't make me put you over my knee miss.." Tay wiggled his eyebrows at me. "Aww man! Why not?" I batted my eyelashes and scooted closer to him. "Oh gross! I don't wanna know what you perverts do in private.." Jake laughed, as we pulled into our driveway. Dave just shook his head, turned off the ignition and got out of the car. Jake follwed and the Tay and me. All the men decided that I should not be allowed to carry anything into the house and I finally caved, rolling my eyes. "Then I am gonna jump in the shower." I stated. "Taylor, would you PLEASE PLEASE put a pot of coffee on?" I grinned. "Sure baby.." he smiled back and kissed my cheek. "Thank you. Back in a few minutes." I kissed him quickly and ran up the stairs, leaving him to catch up with Jake and Dave. |
TAYLOR: I watched Jess run up the stairs to our bedroom and desperately wished that I could follow, not only because I couldn't seem to make love to her enough, but because I wanted to know why she suddenly got that freaked out look on her face in the car. I let her go, knowing a hot shower would relax her and went into the kitchen with Jake and Dave to start her coffee. "Hey guys.." I greeted them and opened the cupboard. "So Tay? What did you think of her step-father?" Jake asked me and I turned to him, stunned. I looked toward the doorway and then back at Jake. "I've never seen her so scared. She's terrified of him. He didn't waste any time either, did he?" I asked, suddenly angry. "I talked to him probably half and hour before we left to pick you guys up. He says he's soooo glad to finally have found her and wants to be part of her life again." Jake said, and waited, expressionless, for my response. "He knew your grandmother, Jake. Jess reamed him, saying he hadn't looked hard enough because she and your grandma lived in the same place all her life. She thinks he wants whatever money your mother left her." I told him. "Oh and she informed him that he wasn't really her father, it affected him, but I'm not sure how. She told him if he REALLY needed to get in touch with her, he should do it through you. She IS scared to death of him though, I hate to think why." I said and then noticed the shocked look on Dave's face. "What Dave?" I asked. |
