"Apparently you two need all the caffeine you can get. No thanks. You doing okay today?" he asked.
"I'm alright Jakey. I just honestly never dreamed I'd ever see that monster again.." I sighed as I switched the coffeepot on.
"He called. right on the button.." Jake told me.
"And?" I aksed.
"He's got nothing coming to him, Jess. But an ass kickin' if I see him near you." he said angrily.
"I'm serious Jakey. I don't want to see him." I said forcefully.
"You don't have to. When are you coing back to work?" he asked changing the subject.
"Can you make due till day after tomorrow? Tay's not leaving till then, so I'm technically still on my honeymoon." I grinned.
"Obviously." he said sarcastically and ruffled my hair.
"Kiss my ass, Jakey." I giggled and turned to wash my hands.
"Want something to eat? It's lunchtime for you, right?" I asked.
"Are you cooking?" he asked cautiously?
"Ugh! are you hungry or not? 'Cause I am starving and am in no mood for this crap..." I grouched and dug through the fridge to gather up stuff to make Tay and I, and Jake if he'd stop being such a butthead, a huge breakfast. My stomach had been protesting loudly since I opened the front door.
"Yeah..I'll stay. Thanks sis.." he grinned. just then Tay appeared in the doorway looking absolutely beautiful in a pair of dark levi's, a tight white tank top and a short sleeved navy blue over shirt. His hair was still damp and hung spiky in his eyes and he was wearing all his chokers. I also could see his navel ring, pushing against the thin fabric of his tank.
JESSIE:

I had to fight a sudden urge to rip his tank up and lick around that navel ring. Tay caught me watching him and gave me a wicked grin. I raised my eyebrow and went about cooking breakfast, then caught him watching me more than a few times. I dished us all a plate and then sat in the chair that Tay pulled out for me. We chatted while we ate and I was glad, for the millionth time that my husband and ny brother truly liked each other and were good friends. After we finished, Taylor offered to clean up while I took a shower.
"Oh thank you, baby." I kissed his cheek. "Ugh! I need one.."
"Yeah....I wasn't gonna say anything.." Jake grinned and shoved me toward the doorway.
"Once again...KISS MY ASS JACOB..that's the thanks I get for cooking you the best breakfast you'll ever have...you sure as hell have forgotten how.." I muttered, heading for the stairs. "Feel sorry for your cleaning lady too..what do you have to pay her extra so you don't embarass yourself when Abbey's in town? Stinkin' muscleheaded, ungrateful excuse for a brother.." I continued, smiling as I heard them both laughing.
"OKAY JESS!! I GOT IT! Thank you, and Diana says you better come see her today or you're really in trouble.." he called out.
"OH GREAT!" I groaned jokingly. "NOW HE'S WEASELING HIS LITLLE BROWNNOSE INTO ALL MY BUISNESS..uh-huh..LET'S ADD BUSYBODY TO THE LIST.."
"Aww...that's what my 10 percent gives me the right to do you brat! Take a shower 'fore the whole joint smellls like that.." he retorted.
"BITE ME SUCKER!" I giggled, turned and stuck my tongue out and then shut the bedroom door. I chuckled, gathered up my thing and jumped in the shower.
TAYLOR:

I shook my head, chuckling as Jess made a face at Jake and then shut the door to take her shower. I was in the process of rinsing the dishes off to put them in the dishwasher, and wiping off the counter top, when Jake reached over, grabbed a washcloth and started wiping the table. "So, dude..why did you guys sleep so late? Oh wait..I don't wanna know.." he grinned. "But I do wanna know why you weren't answering the phone. Both your cells are off too...that's not like either ne of you."
"The cells are probably still off because we wanted it that way during our trip, but Jess turned the ringer off last night. I didn't know she did it till we were so RUDELY awakened." I grinned back.
"That's not like Jess.." Jake said, obviously worried.
"She said she didn't want to have to answer it in case Alex somehow got hold of our number. And we slept late because she had a rough night." I sighed.
"Rough night?"
"Yeah...nightmare.." I said pouring myself another cup of coffee. I offered the pot to Jake, who held his cup out and let me pour him another cup. "She woke up screaming, calling for her mother, then tried to fight me off when I tried to wake her....she says they'll go away when he does, but she won't talk anymore about it."
Jake face became like stone. I'd never seen him lose control of his anger, but his controlled anger was scary enough. "Keep her out of the gym tomorrow if you can, Tay. I have to deal with him and I won't let the sorry bastard near either house. Soon as that's done he should be gone for good and you won't have to worry while you're gone. I'll get Dave to put some guys out here at night too.."
"Thanks man. I hate to leave NOW.."
Jake smiled and shook his head. "You have to, man. She'll be more of a basket case of you're gone when the baby's supposed to be due. And you know you don't wanna miss it."
"I know." I sighed. "She's right, too. Damn I hate that.." I laughed.
"Yeah so do I. I gotta get back to the gym. Call your mom. She's all worried after last night and then not being able to reach you this morning. Take it easy bro. I'll see ya later."
"See ya, Jake." I gripped his shoulder as I opened the door for him.
"Bye.." he gripped mine in return and I closed the door behind him. I could still hear water running upstairs, so I wandered through the house, taking in everything Jess had done to it when I was gone the last time. She had really made it feel like home, and I was sure she had worked hard for that reason. I found myself in the room she had done for me and tears filled my eyes, thinking about how hard she had worked to get it finished. I ran my hand over the top of the piano and looked at all the silver framed portraits, especially the one of she and I dancing at my brother's wedding. I ran my pointer finger over the glass, tracing her small, dark features and her sweet lips, pulled back in a smile that could light up an entire room. Her face was upturned, looking into mine, and even though it was just a picture, I could still see all  the love in her eyes, all for me. "A picture paints a thousand words.." I murmured to myself, and sat down at the
piano bench. I lifted the key cover and started to play.
