"Jame?" Taylor called to her softly as their breathing slowed. "Baby are you okay?" he asked softly and smoothed her hair off her cheek as he leaned up. She nodded quickly, keeping her eyes closed. She was afraid to look into his. "Come here.." he said softly and rolled to her side. He reached for her, and pulled her into his arms and yanked the blanket from the back of the futon over the top of them. She let him pull her against him, and arrange the blanket so they were both covered. Jamie let her head rest back against his chest as they lay there, wrapped up in each other. She stared at the wall in front of her, her brain finally engaging with her body again. He lay behind her, stroking her hair, her shoulder, her waist. "Jame?" he called her name softly. "Hmm?" she murmured back and closed her eyes, hoping he wouldn't bring up 'the words' now. Not when he'd just taken all control from her and she couldn't speak anyway. "You still awake?" he asked. "Mmhmm...why?" she whispered. "Because you shouldn't be. Get some sleep. I'll wake you up in a little while, okay?" he said and kissed her shoulder. "Kay.." she breathed and closed her eyes as she felt him press his cheek against the back of her head and tighten his grip on her slightly. "It's okay baby..sleep.." Taylor yawned, stroked her hair again and closed his eyes, hoping it wouldn't be long before she could find the courage to tell him she loved him. He knew she did, it was all over her face when he kissed her, and when they were in bed together, but he wanted to hear her say it. "Tay?" she called his name softly. "What, baby?" he yawned again. "Don't sneak off...stay...please?" she murmured softly and closed her tear-filled eyes. "I'm not going anywhere Jame." he stated and snuggled closer, wrapping his body around hers. He kissed the back of her head again, before they drifted to sleep. "Where to?" Ike grinned at Jade, realizing he had absolutely no plan because he'd just wanted to get out of there, away from the heat Tay and Jamie were putting out, when he could barely control his thoughts concerning Jade as it was. Jade grinned back and shrugged her shoulders, "Anywhere not in a room with Tay and Jamie right now is fine with me." she giggled. "Amen to that.." Ike rolled his eyes. "Hey what are you doing about work today? You ARE supposed to be working, right?" Ike asked still driving aimlessly. Jade groaned and felt herself blush again. "I should be, but..." she stopped not wanting to tell him that she'd gotten so drunk she'd awakened with a monstrous hangover. "But what?" Ike smiled, then turned the corner and headed away from the city. "But I am too dumb to count how many beers I've had on a weeknight...Jameson and I got to talking...and working on her song...and I was drinking...and pissed at Josh..." she ran her hand through her now dry ringlets, "...and so I got as hammered as Jamie manages to get and woke up feeling like I'd been run over by a steamroller.." she sighed heavily. "I didn't even hear her and Tay leave last night." Ike chuckled. "Well you seem to be feeling pretty okay now." "Yeah...after a handful of aspirin, some of that nasty red stuff Jame makes and that humongus amount of food you and Tay brought over." she laughed. "Glad I could help out." Ike laughed. "Why were you and Josh fighting again?" Ike asked, half out of curiosity, half out of concern for Jade's feelings. Jade sighed again and twirled the end of one of her golden curls around her finger. "Jamie...his attitude...I dunno." she shrugged. "It just wasn't the same as when we usually talk." she told him, realizing it was because she'd rather be talking to Isaac and knowing that it shouldn't be that way. "What about Jamie?" Ike asked, steering clear fo the relationship question. HE didn't want to be the reason they broke up. If she broke up with Josh, he wanted it to be because she didn't want him to treat her the way he had been treating her this last week. "He always calls her names.." Jade said, "and she is like family. I don't walk around calling you or your brothers names like that..even if Zac deserves a hellacious nickname, I wouldn't be so MEAN." she grinned over at him as he drove, seemingly knowing where he was going now. Ike grinned as he watched the road. "I think I am glad about that." he said. "And he only doesn't like Jameson 'cause she's trying to protect me, and because she doesn't really have a problem saying what's on her mind. She always calls him on his bullshit." she chuckled. Her mind fleetingly wandered to Taylor, and she hoped that Jamie would just suck it up and tell the man she loved him. "Jamie doesn't say EVERYTHING that's on her mind, Jade." Isaac stated matter-of-factly, his mind in the same place Jade's was. "What do you mean?" she asked, looking intently at him. "She'd rather die than let Tay see that she feels more than a crush and a physical attraction for him, for one. And there's something she's not telling any of us, except for Taylor. I'd like to know what it is.." he said and turned another corner. "Jamie has a few problems with the 'L' word...if that's what you're talking about." Jade commented, wondering what Ike meant by that comment about Jamie keeping something from all of them. Before she could ask, Ike answered her. "That IS what I am talking about, I guess. Taylor's crazy about her already, and I think she feels the same way about him. If you love someone, you should tell them."Ike stated forcefully, but his mind was no longer on his brother's life. "I think you're right, Ike." Jade answered and covered his hand with hers as he pulled into the same deserted park that Taylor had. |
"So...what do you think we should do about the two of them?" Ike grinned at Jade as he turned the engine off and shifted his body to look at her. Jade smiled and shrugged, "I dunno. I've never actually SEEN Jamie...um...oh god...this is gonna sound REALLY bad...but it's not...I SWEAR..." she began, not knowing HOW to describe her friend without making her sound like a 'maneater' like in the Hall and Oates song. "Shit." she muttered under her breath and raked her hand through her long curls, making Ike suck in his breath. His blood raced a little faster and he fought to get himself under control, so he could LISTEN to what she was trying to tell him. "Just say it Jade." he smiled and moved so his hand was covering hers instead. "It won't go any farther, I promise." he assured her with a warm smile. She returned it and took a deep breath. "Let's just say she's strengthened my resolve to wait until I am actually married to have sex." she told him, blushing slightly and looking down at his hand on hers. "That's not a BAD thing Jade." Ike chuckled and removed his hand from hers. She smiled gratefully at him. "Thank you." she told him. "But I am kind of worried about Tay. She's got to stop being such a chickenshit. She's left a few men ruined, broken their hearts...she actually LOVES Taylor. I don't know what to say to her to keep HIM from getting hurt, or to keep her from fucking up the best thing that could have happened to her." she sighed heavily and looked out over the little lake. "I think it's great of you to worry about THAT, instead of wondering where things are going with Josh..are you EVER gonna speak to him again, Jade?" he asked and then wanted to kick himself, it was none of his buisness nd he wasn't sure he REALLY wanted to know. Jade shrugged again. "He's too sick to think straight. I don't WANT whatever it is that he and angel HAVE, I don't wanna give it to Jameson..she wasn't lying..she's got NO paid time off left...and I don't know what to say. I was so angry that I couldn't even look at him. And now it's been so long, he could have come up with a really feasible LIE. I don't even wanna hear it, now, because I won't believe him anyway." she said, seemingly in one breath. She looked into Ike's warm brown eyes and realized that HE was part of the reason she was putting off talking to Josh. "I s'pose I'll have to speak to him sometime. He was just so whiny and RUDE last night.." she said softly. |
