Taylor and Isaac maintained a semblence of normalcy while the girls took their break, joking and commenting about how pulled together they were, Zac making sure to stress the fact that they were more relaxed an 'tighter' without Angel to 'fuck it all up'. "Sorry Jade. Nothing personal, she just doesn't add to the band, she's not the same caliber musician." Zac grinned apologetically. "I noticed, especially tonight." Jade answered, shocking Jamie into a stunned silence.  "Fire her Jameson. She's holdin' the other girls, if not YOU, back." Jade said matter-of-factly. Jamie stared at Jade for a long moment, then grabbed her arm and spun her roughly around. "'Scuse us boys. We'll be right back." she said through Jade's loud protests at Jamie's rough handling of her. "Shut UP, Jadeleigh.." Jamie said through gritted teeth. "You're trashed and I am NOT hurting you. I wouldn't and you know it." she shoved Jade out the back door into the cooler night air
and spun her, searching her face for some sign of whatever was going on. "Spill it. Why all of a sudden do you NOT care what Angel is doing?" she asked hoping that Jade was going to tell her she knew all about Josh dipping his wick where it didn't belong. "Why are you acting like ATTILA the HUN? Taylor Ike and Zac all say she detracts from the band. I THINK they know what the fuck they're talking about, don't you?" Jade crossed her arms over her chest and looked at her feet. "Duh. Jadeleigh, I'm sorry. I know she's family and you love her and all, but she's really NOT suited for what we play. She needs to get in touch with Britney's management, you know?" Jamie grinned at her friend. "Yes, Jameson. I know." Jade sighed. "As many people that come in and out of here to check you guys out, I was kinda hoping some teenie manager would whisk her ass straight to Disneyworld..like SIX months ago. She's not like she was when we were growing up. I have a stronger
connection and feel much coser to you, you skank."
Jade grinned back. Jamie tossed her head back and laughed out loud.
"Growin' some BIG ASS balls lately mah sista!" Jamie teased and hugged Jade. "Wouldn't have anything to do with the fact that you need to dump weird ass Joshy and scoop up Ike while the scoopin's good would it?" Jamie raised her eyebrow and grinned. "He's soooo ready to be scooped baby!" Jamie chuckled. "Aww Jame. It's so WRONG and I am too buzzed to list all the reasons WHY." Jade sighed. "Bullshit. You're chokin' big time. But it's YOUR life.." Jamie stated and hugged her friend. "I though something more serious was going on." "Like what?" Jade asked and Jamie had to clear her throat to come up with something good, but she couldn't. "You lambasted me outta the blue with that, 'just fire her' shit," she finally said. "Don't freak me out like that unless you're serious." Jamie laughed. "I was, goober. Kick her to the curb. I don't give a shit." Jade chuckled back. "Uh huh. Like you had to say it more than once." Jamie threw her arm over Jade's neck
and ushered her back in the building all smiles and laughs, while the three men in attendance just stared and shook their heads as if to say, "women..." "HEY HANSON!!" Jamie yelled to Taylor. "Shot o' whisky with a beer chaser, please?" she grinned. "Damn, Jame." he grinned back. "I am getting my ass back up on that stage as soon as it's gone, pretty boy. I'll sweat it out in 15 minutes." "Yeah okay.." he shook his head and flagged the waitress down.
They finished their drinks, then the girls wiped their faces and took the stage again.

Jamie and the rest of the girls were so into playing and their energy was so contagious that the whole bar seemed to be pulsing to the beat.
Taylor was so keyed into Jamie he figured he'd have to make love to her for at least three days before it calmed. He was so entranced with their performance that he didn't pay much attention to the two men that took their places on either side of him.

"WELL WOULDJA LOOKIE HERE?" Jamie exclaimed from behind her drumkit. "Change o' pace people, for the two hottest lookin' fellas this side o' the Arkansas River.." she drawled in a suddenly thicker southern accent. Taylor chuckled to himself wondering where this was coming from. "Break out yer shitkickers folks...this one's for you, bud." she grinned and nodded in Taylor's direction. Taylor raised his eyebrow in question as Jamie tossed her head back and laughed, then winked at Tami. It was then that Taylor felt the extremely large hand on his shoulder. Before he could even utter a hello, the girls were playing again, and Taylor's jaw fell slightly open.
"Blame it on my roots..I showed up in boots
and ruined your black tie affair.
I was the last one to know, the last one to show..
I was the last one you thought you'd see there.

I saw her surpirise.. the fear in her eyes
when I took your glass of champagne..
then I toasted you..said honey we may through..
but you'll never here me complain..

'CAUSE I GOT FRIENDS IN LOW PLACES,
WHERE THE WHISKEY DROWNS AND BEER CHASES
MY BLUES AWAY...AND I'LL BE OKAY..
AND I'M NOT BIG ON SOCIAL GRACES
THINK I'LL SLIP ON DOWN TO THE OASIS
OH I GOT FRIENDS
IN LOW PLACES.."

Taylor looked up at Jamie's very large uncle and had to laugh. He was wearing the same kind of proud parent smile his father usually wore when he and his brothers played and Jamie was definiately singing directly to him. Mongo was definatley already lit and enjoying every second of his niece's attention. Taylor shot another glance to the ther side of him and grinned at Jamie's father, who was drinking his beer, shaking his head and chuckling to himself. Mr. Vaughn gave Taylor a nod and turned his full attention back to his daughter, who was finishing up the honkey-tonk anthem, obviously learned especially for this man, but had the entire bar singing along to the top of their lungs.
