"Have you lost your fucking MIND?" Jade stood staring at Jamie, as Jamie leaned heavily against the brick wall and tried to get her balance. "HAVE YOU?" Jamie looked at Jade from underneath her arms, resting her forehead on her bicep. Her arms were outstretched, palms flat against the wall, her feet planted firmly behind her. She was leaned forward, and the only thing she could think about was how to make the ground be still under her feet, and wonder what the heck had gotten into Jadeleigh. "Jame..." Jade began in a softer tone, "What the hell is wrong with you? I've never seen you this messed up before, and why are you picking on Taylor? I can't believe he's still here..unless that's it. Oh my god it IS..." she gasped as she stared at Jamie, who was still resting her head on her arm, eyes squeezed shut. "That's the dumbest thing I ever heard, Jadeleigh." Jamie muttered, rubbng her face against her arm. "Whatever. I am NOT EVEN go into it with you now." Jade sighed heavily. "Are you okay? Or are you gonna be sick?" she asked her friend. "I'm NOT gonna puke okay? Jesus, Jadeleigh.." Jamie muttered again and stood up straight, only weaving once. "Come on, let's get the fuck outta here. If I don't sleep some of this shit off I will be in no shape to play tomorrow night." Jamie slurred and grabbed her friend's wrist. "Jamie..please..don't ruin it with Tay.." Jade practically begged her friend. "Jadeleigh, you're makin' me wonder exactly how sober you ARE. I have no FREAKIN' idea what you're talkin' about. LET'S GO." Jamie said and tugged Jade behind her. "You do too, Jamie." a deep burly voice came from behind her, making her jump. "What the heck are you tryin' to do to me, Shane?" Jamie snapped. "Shut up, brat. Sad part is, I THINK Jimmy'd like the guy. Give the poor dude a break, Jame. If it was me I'd have blown you off about three hours ago. Found me a chick willing to give it up and forgot all about you. It's not like there's not other women dying to get his attention here you know." Shane told her pointedly. Jamie rolled her eyes and weaved a bit on her feet. "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU PEOPLE TALKING ABOUT?!?" she roared, exasperated. "ALL I WANNA DO IS GET MY SHIT AND GO TO BED!!" she yelled then ran her hand through her hair again. "I'll call you tomorrow, Jameson. Just make sure you let HIM take you home. You can't drive." Jade said and walked away, shaking her head. "Keys Jamie. NOW." Shane said and stuck his hand out. jamie rolled her eyes and handed Shane her keys. "Wanna unlock the door so I can get the damn drums and stuff in, or do I have to do it by osmosis?" she told him, folding her arms over her chest. "Jimmy wasn't perfect, Jamie. And mostly when it came to you he was full of shit and overprotective. Just think about that." Shane said and opened the back doors of the van. "Cut him loose honest if you don't wanna see him, but don't be such a bitch, Jamie. I know you better than that you chickenshit. Get some sleep. I'll give your keys to Taylor. Nite squirt." he said and ruffled her hair, just like he and Jimmy used to do when she was little. Jamie stood in the dirt parking lot with her arms folded across her chest like a two-year old, until Shane went inside. It was then that she realized she was holding an empty beer bottle, and didn't know how it got there. She let out a guttaral roar and hurled the thing against the brick wall, waiting for some kind of satisfaction to come from the sight and sound of the breaking glass, roaring again when it didn't come. All she felt was an empty ache and she yelled to the top of her lung again, then kicked the metal door until it dented. Her body shook and her hair was pasted to her face with sweat, as she continued to pound the metal door with her booted feet. Taylor's head shot up as he heard Jamie's frustrated roar, the sound of breaking glass and then the sound of denting, clanging metal. he immediately turned to Jade in question. Jade averted her gaze from his and looked at her feet. He looked at Ike, his eyes widening as he heard Jamie's frustrated yelps and the clangs of metal coming closer together. Jade took a long drink of her last beer, then put her head down on the bar, trying not to cry for her friend, and Ike couldn't help but rub her back gently in symapthy as he watched his brother drop everything and go running out the door. "Well...this is gonna take a while...who's hungry?" Zac asked, scanning the room. Jade looked up quickly and then looked at Isaac. "He's right you know." Ike told her. "Taylor's pretty fucking brave. Ther's no way in hell I'd go out there with her acting like that. Fucking scary.." he grinned. "Hot air, Ike. She'll wreck things, but not people." she giggled. "Still scary, and we SHOULD eat something, unless you WANT to wake up feeling like you did his morning?" he teased. "Okay, okay." she relented. "Where are we eating?" she grinned over at Zac and Zac let out a whoop. "Lenny's...yeah...I think they're the only place open right now...it's that or the Waffle House..and I am sorry but that third shift cook gives me the creeps.." Zac said. "I guess we're going to DENNY'S.." Jade said, linking her arm through Ike's. "You don't watch enough TV.." Zac teased Jade, then puffed out his chest when Tami and Rae linked their arms through his, and Patti hopped on his back. "Ooh what a stud.." Tami teased as they all piled into Patti's old classic. "Shit.." Taylor muttered, stunned at what he saw. Jaime was sweat covered, her hair pasted to her face. Her expression was one of determination, anger and frustration all rolled into one. He sucked in his breath at the sight of her muscled arms and back as she tensed her body and raised it repeatedly to try to kick in the metal door. he finally shook himself out of his startled daze and ran around behind her. "Jamie!! Jamie stop baby.." he grunted in her ear as he wrapped his arms tightly sround hers and pulled her back against him. She struggled against his grasp, getting angrier. "Jamie pleaaase.." Taylor yelled in her ear and held her more tightly to him. "Stop baby..you're gonna hurt yourself. TALK to me dammit." he growled and held her arms close to her sides. "UGH LET GO!!" she yelled and tried to pull herself out of his grip. "I DON'T NEED THIS!! GOD!!" she yelled again, and Taylor decided he was glad that she was wasted, because she was strong and he didn't know if he could hold her if she was fighting him full strength. "JAMIE!!! WHAT? What is it you don't need? HUH? WHAT?" he finally yelled back, spinning her to make her look at him. "Just let GO..jesus.." Jamie shoved him roughly away and ran her hand through her hair, stumbling backward. She finally came to rest against the cold brick wall, then leaned her body back against it, knocking the back of her head in the process. "Shit.." she muttered and rubbed the sore spot. "Jame...what the hell is WRONG? HUH?" Taylor asked again, frustrated and angry now. Jamie could only stare at him defiantly. What was she supposed to say? 'I have NO freaking idea...I am scared shitless? (a reply she skipped over quickly, being unable to admit it to herself).' She most certainly wsn't going to tell him that Jimmy had climbed inside her head since her father walked in that night. He'd think she was cracked for one, and she didn't want to wrestle with her conscience, that sounded eerily like her brother's voice. Top that off with Shane's comments about her brother being a jerk, overprotective and that he'd probably LIKE Taylor, well she figured if she tried to deal with it all in her persent state, Taylor'd would have to visit her in Sunnybrook and brush dust off her pretty white coat with the buckles in the back. Not only THAT, she did not WANT to deal with whatever was going on in her head. She wanted her life to get back to normal, and have Taylor just let her be herself, not expect more from her than she was already giving, at least not now. "JAMIE ANSWER ME!!" Taylor roared, stepping closer and shocking her brain back into her body. "I DON'T KNOW ALL RIGHT?! I don't FUCKING know..." she muttered and turned her body, slamming her fist into the metal door, then watched idly as her knuckles bled, where the skin was scraped off. "Son of a BITCH!" she muttered again and hoisted her foot, giving the offending door another dent for good measure. "Dammit Jamie..." Taylor muttered again, grabbed her shoulders and gave her a rough shake. "What has you so pissed off Jamie? HUH?" he demanded, shaking her again. |
