Taylor took one last, long look at the little motel and a deep breath just outside the coffee shop. "Lexi..." he whispered as he watched her car speed away with her in it.

"I know, Tay." she whispered, watching him watch her, in the rear-view mirror. A single tear rolled down her cheek.

ONE YEAR LATER:

Taylor walked around the big tree and down the little hill to the pond, as snowflakes stuck to his cheeks. He took a sip of his vanilla coffee, sprinkled with cinnamon and closed his eyes. The vision of coffee colored strands, the smell of cinnamon, the feel of sweat soaked linen sheets and blinking Christmas lights overwhelmed him, almost bringing tears to his eyes.

"Merry Christmas Lexi. I miss you." he said out loud.

"Merry Christmas Taylor. I missed you, too." her voice behind him startled him. he spun and looked directly in to sparkling, shimmering eyes, and snow speckled, coffee colored hair. "Lexi..." he blinded her with a happy smile.

"We can have tonight, Tay." she smiled back and took his hand.

"Yes. Tonight." he answered.
