| Nine One One With tearful eyes The nation cries Shouted lies As our hope dies The cities fall with dust like rain We're all appalled, we watch the planes Forget the past Our fate's broadcast News taken full blast Is this the last? Time stands still and people pray The downfall's overnight, a century in one day Death and pain Security's slain The world sees plain It's all in vain Wringing hands, our hearts in knots Every soul bombards our thoughts Lay the facts upon the table We shall see if we mislabel Despite the fact that we're unstable Are we unable? And we rock on our heels filled with rage We wait with fists to be released from our cage They can't explain They won't remain We won't contain Our great disdain Though ignorance is our vice, the world's our stage We steady our aim as evidence turns the page Who can we blame? There aren't any names Who cares what they claim Just strengthen the flame Across the seas reactions rise We can't help but hope they're not lies As children cheer We think it's clear It's what we hear That we hold dear It's like a bad movie, it feels like a dream We want to wake up, as we shout and we scream We can't replace They can't erase We'll take our faith In a warm embrace And as the numbers flash In white, we ask "Are we simply asleep?" The sirens wail, We feel we're frail, And together we all weep |

| There really isn't much to say about this one. I think everyone knows what I'm talking about here. This poem's different because I usually don't rhyme my work, but this one has been. I can't even tell you why I did it for this one. My mom says that the rhyme scheme is a little confusing, but I know I'm not gonna change it. Tell me what you think! Go back to the poetry page. |
