Questioning A Dream

As the wind rides on golden wings,
flying into the light of a thousand suns.
I ride the silver wings of dreams
into the slicing depths of misfortune.

I'm whispering all my secrets to the stars
that I see through the braches above me.
Clack. Clack. Clack.
The sound of my boots on marble;
An anomaly in this "Silent Forest."

Walking through the Tunnel of Souls,
a wing in this forest cathedral,
I could almost swear that I see a light at the end; a light that has been a long time coming.
But they say you must bear the darkness first.

A golden veil falls over the autumn-touched leaves,
as if trying to kiss the Earth.
This is where my dark angel has taken me.
My beautiful metal goddess.

The tears that I shed here now in silence
are in knowing that I am in the hands of God.
Though I am surrounded in vibrant light,
I sit in darkness.

I sit protected by the velvet cloak of night.
Will I always sit in darkness this way?
Between the worlds of peace and malice,
dancing with time?

Taking of brush from the Seasons,
and helping Fate weave her tapestry;
Will I ever quit comforting souls
who have no bodies?

A blank in my mind cries tauntingly like a child.
While I gyrate and spiral,
I have no answers, no questions. No solutions, no troubles.
Only the wind.

Only the feeling as I swirl and spin,
carried amongst the stars.
The feeling of living a dream.
That is, if I am living at all...
This one was another one inspired by Japanese music (Orguss 2 Opening Theme, and Macoss Plus' Voices). I wrote it in '99, I think, and it was nice then, but about a year later, I re-wrote it to what it is today.

Tell me what you think!
