The Los Angeles Calendar
Bike Show
July 17th and 18th saw "one of the biggest" mixed bike events in North America."

I got up early to beat the traffic and rode the 650 Dog down to Long Beach and the Queen Mary Event Park.  I got there in record time.

OK, to be realistic, even in the amateur class, the 650 Dog just can't compete with the ground-up beautiful machines at that particular show.  I
can be proud that my bike was one of the few that was ridden, not trailered, in; and that my bike is ridden every day. Most show bikes rarely touch asphalt.  And, Heck, I entered, which for me, took a lot of guts.

I can say with 100% certainty that I was the
only competitor who could pose on their own bike in a bikini and look good doing it.  Damn straight.

Non-riders may not know this, but 99.999% of motorcyclists and bike builders are really awesomely nice.  I met some very cool people.  One guy tried to put down my bike as "too stock"-but everyone else really liked it.  In fact, it was a crowd favorite- a lot of spectators lingered at the 'Dog and passed the "typical chopper" bikes by.

I took home nothing but a good time.  Really, that's what counts the most.
