| Ok, little bit of background info on Fred real quick. About five years ago Fred was working at the library, when she opened and read from the wrong book, sucking her into another demension. The portal she had opened also pulled our little friend Lorne through as well. Anyway, the world she got sucked into was run by demons, and humans were kept as slaves or 'cows'. She was able to escape her master and live on her own in the countryside. Well, through a few series of events Cordelia got a vision of Fred disappearing, went to the library, and of course read from the same book. She was sucked in and a cousin of Lorne's was brought back out. Apparently in his world the men are big manly hunters, and the women are bigger and even more manly hunters. So Angel, Gunn, Wes, and Lorne all take off to go find her. While Angel's budsy obsessing about how he could stand in the sun in the new demension and still NOT be on fire, Cordelia got another vision and they started calling her 'cursed'. Well, long story short she was supposed to become queen, marry the Gruslug (who looked better with longer hair) and once they...um....you know.....she would lose her powers to him. Well, before they got around to all that she found Angel and the rest of the gang and they decided to leave. But Gru promised that once he got things in order where he was he would return. Ok, now when Fred comes back she decides to join Angel Investigations. She's our happy little smart, bookwormy chick. (kind of like Willow only a lot less shy and a lot less gay). And it looked like for a while she and Wes were going to get hooked up, but that soon changed to her and Gunn, who are now that sickeningly sweet and loving couple. As far as Fred goes as a person, she's pretty cool in my book. She really cares about Gunn, and everyone else she works with. She was the only one to go and visit Wes after the whole big Connor thing. Though she may seem timid and sweet, when push comes to shove Fred is ready and willing to join in a fight. I really like the fact that with Fred, Joss has stuck with his theme that no matter how unlikely a hero can seem, especially a chick, they can suprise us and come through in the end. |
