This poem was originally written as a tribute to my late husband.  My good friend Bill Hansen of the group "Clearwater Connection" worked with me to make it a song and composed a haunting melody for it.  When Doris Sotirellis added her sultry voice the song became a hit. It can now be heard on their latest CD "Timeless".  For more information go to:

The Warmth of Love

In the darkness of my room
I lie here all alone
As slumber takes its hold of me
I know he'll be here soon

He drifts into my memory
Between the dusk and dawn
And every night he lingers
And then we travel on
In the golden sunrise
He's always on my mind
Within a crowd ... I'll see a smile
He seems to stand behind

A ghost of my existence
A shadow from the past
Aglow with true emotion
The warmth of love at last

He mirrors my reflection
My heart's an open door
And when our journey's ended
He'll be mine for evermore
I know I love him deeply
It's the end of hide and seek
And where I go ... I'll always know
His heart is mine to keep

A ghost of my existence
A shadow from the past
Aglow with true emotion
The warmth of love at last

The warmth of love at last ...
