Apology To All

Why do we say some of the things that we do
When we know that we can't take them back
After they've been said and have broken a heart
Could it possibly be because of a lack
Of compassion for the person to whom we have spoken
Either through anger, frustration or defense
Why when hurt we must hurt back
Then justify what we've said and continue without pretense
Where have humility and compassion gone
Here in this time and age
Where people seem to feel justified
In releasing all of their anger and rage
What has happened to concern and caring about
All of those around you
Everyone now is centered on self
And worry little of how they act or things they do
To all whom I have hurt in the past
This apology is intended for you
Sorry I am for whatever I've done
To offend, hurt or wound
