The Handyman is quite different from other testers in that it has the ability to apply 200 volts to SCRs and diodes for evaluating blocking and reverse leakage. Capacitors may now be tested at or near their actual operating voltage for both value and leakage. Numerous other components can be completely tested under realistic conditions where VOM testing alone would provide only marginal or inconclusive results. SCR dual range firing and SCR holding current tests along with diode forward conduction and simple continuity testing are all routine for the HANDYMAN. For added convenience, an audible as well as a visual indication is provided for continuity tests. This enables the operator to devote full attention to circuit probing without the need for visual contact with the HANDYMAN. It also tests its own internal battery and circuitry. The peak reading function allows your VOM to measure peak voltages in addition to RMS and average voltages. The HANDYMAN is furnished complete with five high-quality test leads: Three standard test leads with insulated test clips, and two "Giant Clip" leads for larger devices.
