kicked her way into the world in the Brusly area of Louisiana. Surviving the beginning of a new century, Edma grew to adulthood
and found her true love in Samuel Boudreaux. They married and settled in Belle Rose, raising a family of five beautiful daughters.
"Shoe", as he was called, worked harvesting sugar cane and sold cars after retiring to support his family. But Edma worked just as hard
as matriarch of this busy group. All through her life Edma loved to dance. She and "Shoe" danced through 56 years of marriage
before his death in 1979. Not until 1998 did she hang up her dancing slippers! Many probably remember her dancing the waltz, her favorite
dance, at the Music box in Galvez until just two years ago. Her daughter, Doris Cowan was still taking her mother to the Music Box every
week until she was 98 years old. Edma has truly twirled around the dance floor numerous miles over the years of her lifetime.
Still possessing a zest for life, Edma has enjoyed living at D'Ville Home in Donaldsonville since October 1998. She will be
celebrating her 100th Birthday with her family and friends at D'Ville on Sunday, February 13. Presently Edma has 60 descendants including
