2003: CBS 2 News This Morning - Open - "This is CBS 2 News This Morning."
This open premiered with a new studio, new theme, new graphics, and an updated logo on January 27, 2003.
2002: CBS 2 News at 6:00 - Talent Open - "You're watching CBS 2 News at 6... with Ernie Anastos, Dana Tyler, Warner Wolf's sports, and weather with David Rogers and Janine D'Adamo."
This open was used only a few times in 2002.
2001: CBS 2 News This Morning - Open - "You're watching CBS 2, home of the CBS 2 Information Network. Live from the CBS 2 Information Center in New York, this is CBS 2 News This Morning."
Michael Pomeranz and Lisa Hill welcomed viewers to CBS 2 News' new studio on the morning of August 27, 2001. For the first few weeks in the new studio, Michael and Lisa began each half hour standing at the monitors and then walked over to the news desk during the open. The opens were shortened to only the few seconds in mid-April, 2002, eliminating mention of the CBS 2 Information Network.
2001: CBS 2 Nightcast - Open - "You're watching the CBS 2 Information Network. Live from Fifth Avenue, this is CBS 2 Nightcast."
Nightcast premiered January 2, 2001 with Ernie Anastos and Angela Rae. It was renamed "CBS 2 Nightcast" at the end of April, 2001. This open was used for about four months until CBS 2 News moved back into the CBS Broadcast Center on August 27th.
2000: New York Live - Open - "You're watching the CBS 2 Information Network. Right now, from the CBS 2 studio on Fifth Avenue, from the heart of the tri-state area, this is New York Live!"
"News 2 at 4:00" became "New York Live" the same day as the CBS 2 Information Network began. It was a mix of local news, features, entertainment, and interviews. Dana Tyler and Stephen Clark anchored the program, and Ira Joe Fisher provided the weather forecasts. Todd McDermott replaced Stephen after he left in December, 2000. The last New York Live was on April 24, 2001, and it was replaced by "CBS 2 First News @ 4:00" with Dana Tyler and Ernie Anastos.
2000: The News This Morning - Open - "You're watching the CBS 2 Information Network. Now, live from Fifth Avenue, this is The News This Morning."
The CBS 2 Information Network premiered on October 30, 2000. All newscasts were renamed from "News 2" to "The News." These opens were used until April, 2001 when the newscasts began using the "CBS 2 News" title.
2000: News 2 at 6:00 - Open - "From the heart of the tri-state area, street level on Fifth Avenue, with Dana Tyler, Stephen Clark, Mark Danon's weather, and Warner Wolf on sports, you're watching News 2 at 6."
This open came with the new graphics and music packages on April 27, 2000.

In this open you can hear the different version of WCBS Grand used for the 4pm newscast.

WCBS Grand's softest version was used for News 2 This Morning.
2000: News 2 at 6:00 - Open - "From the heart of the tri-state area, Dana Tyler, Stephen Clark, Mark Danon's weather, and Warner Wolf on sports, this is News 2 at 6."
This open premiered January 25, 2000 and was last used on April 26, 2000.
1998: News 2 at 5:00 - Open - "It's time for News 2 at 5, with Stephen Clark, Dana Tyler, Mark Danon with weather, and Warner Wolf on sports."
News 2 at 11:00 unveiled its new look on Febraury 2, 1998. The graphics and theme premiered on the other newscasts the following day. Deaf Dog Music produced the custom theme.
1997: News 2 at 5:00 - Open - "You're watching CBS 2. Now Stephen Clark, Dana Tyler, Ira Joe Fisher, and Warner Wolf. More news in less time, every time."
2 News officially became News 2 on May 11, 1997 at 11:00. The change included a new logo, new graphics, a new studio, and new music. News 2 heavily promoted its faster pace with the slogan "More News in Less Time, Every Time." Stephen Clark joined the News 2 team on the first evening as Dana Tyler's co-anchor. The theme, called Power News, was produced by Non Stop Music.
1996: 2 News This Morning - Open - "Now Steve Doocy, Cindy Hsu, and Storm Field with weather, this is 2 News This Morning."
Non Stop Music composed the music, called News Force.
1995: Channel 2 News at 11:00 - Open - "This is Channel 2 News at 11."
Channel 2 News used Total News by Non Stop Music from 1993 to 1995.
1990: Channel 2 News at 6:00 - Open - "Now, Ernie Anastos, Michele Marsh, Warner Wolf with sports, and Mr. G. with weather. The First Team. This is Channel 2 News at 6."

Late 1980s: Channel 2 News at 11:00 - Open - "Channel 2 News at 11 with Rolland Smith, Michele Marsh, Warner Wolf on sports, and Dr. Frank Field with weather."
Channel 2 News used the Palmer News Package by Shelly Palmer from 1985 to 1989. L.J. tells me that he believes this open was used between March of 1985 and August of 1986, when Rolland Smith left WCBS-TV.
1983: Channel 2 News - Weekend Open - "This is Channel 2 News: The Weekend Report, with Vic Miles, Steve Albert, and Mr. G. with the weather."
