WINTER ISSUES Since winter is coming, at our last meeting we discussed some of the concerns that come with the snow & cold... - Shoveling sidewalks of people unable to shovel themselves    (Note: 2 people volunteered to try to shovel walks of seniors on    Simcoe Street from Ellice to Sargent) - Icy sidewalks (public & private) - Cheaper sand/salt made available at several local stores? - Kids playing on streets holding onto vehicles - Shopping for elderly shut-ins - Help carrying groceries, especially month-end (carts don't work) - Publicize phone # for people passed out in the cold - Info on dealing with landlords not repairing furnaces, windows, etc - Snowman contests for kids - Christmas lights brighten up the area - Garbage bins at Mansfield Court Our next meeting will focus some energy on addressing these problems.
