After flying to LA to see the show at the Palladium (and someone =) ) and seeing Liz here in Austin tonight, I must say that our super goddess is indeed amazing. I was speechless after the last show and am moreso now and getting a much ebtter position in the crowd. Shes just amazing. I just wish it hadn't been 5 years between now and seeing her at the Lilith Fair. She looked really good tonight and was away from the uniform-esque green skirt/shorts in a white shirt, a light-colored skirt and some green boots.
The Austin show had a bit of a different set-list from the LA show:
Johnny Feelgood
Extraordinary
Divorce Song
Rock Me
Fuck and Run
Supernova
A duet for Whats-his-name from the Flaming Lips and his fiance(?)
And one or two more songs that I just can't think of right now. The biggest difference to me was the removinging of Glory as the first song. I love Glory, but its not a lead-off track to me. I'm happy it was a different set, but at the same time it seemed even shorter than the LA show.
The last song she did was a duet with the singer from the Starlight Mints. I'm not sure of the song's title, so someone please help me out. The chorus was along the lines of "But tonight, You belong to me..." Very folk-sy and traditional sounding so I'm sure its some well-known song thats just escaping me right now. I got a little bit of it on video, but it didnt' come out well at all... like the rest of the pictures I tried to take. She walked within a few feet of me later on when she was walkign out of the back-stage area but I completely froze when she did and it was only for a second between a few doors. So close.
Anyway, it was a great show and Liz did say that it was the last of the "intimate" shows that shes playing.
Oh, and Liz said it best when she said "Fuck, its hot out here."
I'm sure more will come to me later, but do you really care anymore to listen to me rant? Meh, its all good.

last night was the best night of my life...
got a front row parking spot and knew it was a sign. got picked to be an animal for the lips show. saw liz from 4 feet away and started shaking (and stalking). got to the very front of stubb's, watched liz set up and sing 3 songs from about 3 feet away. i could still see when i was in line to be an animal, it just wasn't so close.
i'd never seen her before and i was mesmerized. she's so hot. she's so awesome. the set was awesome. the b-sides are going to be awesome. she sounds so great. i think i'm in love.
i was a lion on stage right if anyone was there.
i walked backstage in my animal suit and liz was still back there. i stopped and actually talked to her. my friend had to pat my back to remind me to stop being scary. i couldn't tell you what i said, but i know she touched my arm. she told me to remember to look back at the screen once in a while so i didn't miss the awesome video.
i danced my ass of on stage for two hours. went backstage with the flaming lips and they talked to us for 20 minutes. wayne took pictures, signed whatever we wanted, even put up with my friend shamelessly hitting on him. unfortunately, liz wasn't back there.
my friend and i went to a couple bars close by where lots of musicians go after they go to stubb's, but no luck.
overall, an amazing experience. i can't believe i finally got to meet her.
