Parents:
Taking notes is an important skill that all students should master. As a parent take a few moments from time to time to see the notes your son or daughter are taking in class. Are they clear and easy to read? Would they be able to use these notes to study for a test? If not, offer suggestions on how to improve their notes. Offer encouragement for good note taking. Use their notes to help them study, this shows students that you believe their work is valuable and important. This page also offers copies of my class notes. These notes are just guidlines for my classes. I don't follow them word for word, and I embelish some ideas and skip others. I also encourage discussion and questions from my classes that could lead to other information that may not be included in these notes. Use these notes as background for what we are doing in class and to quiz or test your son or daughter at home. Students: These notes are also provided for the students. Many students require teacher notes as part of their IEP. They are located here so they can by downloaded from home or anywhere at school. These notes are also provided for students who are absent, so that they can get them at home or when they return to school. |
