About Caladbolg

The Story
Patrick and Ryan are best friends just going through life, busting through school, enjoying the good times with friends, and taking it easy. Unfortunately, Patrick and Ryan aren't destined for such a life. When a dragon from a different world suddenly appears before them and threatens their lives, Patrick's friends, sister, and cousin are cast into a swirling vortex. With the dragon about to finish Patrick and Ryan off, everything seemed bleak. However, a light flew out of the vortex and saved Patrick and Ryan. That light... was Tidus. But, wait, isn't Tidus from the video game Final Fantasy X? With the world collapsing around them, Patrick and Ryan have little choice but to follow Tidus into another world. Now, Patrick and Ryan will have to figure out just what is going on, save their friends and family, and find a way to restore their own world, before it's too late. This is the beginning of their story.

Origin

I thought to myself one day, in a time far, far away, that it'd be cool to do a comic with a bunch of my friends in them. Well, after careful consideration I decided to do one about my friends Patrick and Ryan, who are, perhaps, some of the best people I know out there. Well, they agreed and so I went ahead and started "The Adventures of Patrick and Ryan: Final Fantasy", since Patrick really likes Final Fantasy X, but there started a controversy as to WHO'S name should come first in the title. So, I just decided to throw this name out the window and dub the comic "Caladbolg: Final Fantasy" because: 1) It's easier, and 2) It has a tie in with the story at some point. Well, they agreed after much debate, and so that's how it came to start. Now, believe it or not, but I'm actually putting this story in the world of a video game called Final Fantasy X which was released back in 2000 to much acclaim, and which I got Patrick nicely hooked on (probably for the rest of his life). =) Not only that, but becuase the concept was so similar, I'm also putting the entire thing in a world of another story that I started way back in 5th grade, which you'll see the tie-in's to later. It's only an experimental project, but it's a big one. How I'm ever going to keep this thing together is anybody's guess. I'll likely keep going till it's finally over and done with, though, so don't worry. In anycase, that's the origin. No light from God, no long hours of meditation... just a pencil, paper, food, friends, and spare time on my hands. Amazing, huh? Compliment me when I'm finished, or at least pray to my broken body. *uneasy laughter* =_=
